Cessna 140 by Aeroplane Heaven released

What's odd is the same area doesn't seem to have the visual problem in P3D. I'm sure the model hasn't changed so it could very well be a different angle making the difference but I'm wondering if it's a difference between the P3D and MSFS lighting/shading.

No, the model is substantially different. It has to be. There is a new update going up with some further work in this area. Hopefully it should show an improvement for you.:engel016:

Ah, good to know, and thank you! This is definitely minor compared to some of the systems issues you all have been working on so I appreciate it getting any attention.

Upgrade V1.2.1

There is now a new upgrade available, V1.2.1

Several items including:

Electrics fixed
Tail light fixed
Panel Modeling adjusted
Engine power adjusted for better climb

Thanks to everybody who provided reports.:engel016:

I have also noticed the problem shown above WRT to the lower edge of the aluminum center gauge section - large black gaps along the bottom.

Also - V1.2.1 still needs a tail light bulb..

I'll check it all out again. I'n beginning to think this one's jinxed...:engel016:
WRT the panel issue, looks like it is different from livery to livery.
in the Yellow/White the panel looks fine - but in the Green/White the panel looks rough along that line.
At least this is the case in the wheeled version - I haven’t used the float planes since v1.2.1

We've remodeled that panel and it now has its own standalone material (shared) so there is about to be a new upload once tested. Thinking of calling it Jinx.V.1:engel016:

New base panel

Here's a couple of screenies showing the revised base panel Click for bigger.:engel016:

Hi,

Does anyone know when Orbx is supposed to be pushing out the v1.2.1 update? I've checked Orbx central everyday since it was announced last Friday but it hasn't been updated (still v1.2.0)

I uninstalled & reinstalled in case that was the issue but still on v1.2.0

Cheers,

Keith.

Update now available

There's a new update available for the Cessna.

All vendors have been advised including ORBX.

V1.3 includes:

Revised panel base modeling
Re-calibrated fuel gauges
Re-calibrated Kohlsman indicator
Revised electrical circuits to maintain battery charge state
Control yokes now extend to 110 degrees either side.

There appears to be a strange anomaly in the sim code where if an aircraft is just kept at idle on the ground for a length of time, the battery will run down, even though the alternator is running. We have provided a workaround. We have tested the Cessna at idle for 20 minutes on the ramp and the battery stayed up.

Be sure to check your sim content area for the correct version, after download and install.:engel016:

Thanks for making these corrections, Baz
I’m hoping to have time later today for installing and testing the 140 v1.3

panel has been fixed, voltmeter seems to be working, and there is a tail light - so far so good.

might need an oil can to take care of that squeaky trim wheel...lol

UPDATE : looks like the master battery switch is no longer animated (when starting from the runway)
This was in the float plane version - spawning on a water runway, with the aircraft ready to fly. I have not tested it from the ramp cold n dark yet.

You can see it at the end of this video when I try to switch it off - it appears to function properly but doesn't move - just skip to the end if you like

=Yes the water handling of this airplane is a bit rougher than the other float plane mods, but with SU5 coming soon I'm sure it is the best decision for AH to correct it afterward...
