Cessna 150

While going through my 'library', I found a freeware Cessna 150 that I had forgotten about.
It was originally released on FrenchVFR but has disappeared from there.
It'a a payware quality plane that even has a working double-sided wizz wheel.

There is an English ReadMe (thankfully) & a Wizz wheel Readme in French, that would need to be translated.. any volunteers?
I've had a read through, and there is no restriction on sharing, so, if anyone is interested, pop me a PM with your email address.

That is the Flavin Cessna 150, standard and aerobat versions. Initially only available on his website (a personal site, not an FS site) and, as far as I can tell, the only aircraft he ever made. He, and his site, disappeared years ago, the plane is now available on many FS sites. Definitely payware quality (to be honest, I've paid for FS aircraft that weren't this good); no 2d panel but you don't need one, everything functions perfectly from the VC. Tons of repaints out there. The original release was modeled with a worn windscreen ...a bit too worn, if the light hits it just right all you see are scratches and fog; there is a mod file (Cessna 150L Glass Fix) which gives it a standard clear windscreen.

I've no idea how to use that flight computer (can't read French either), but it's a cool addition. I'm sure there are some pilots here quite familiar with it.

A tip of the hat to "Opa" , who discovered this little gem - only a single screenshot and download link buried in the middle of a page on a French site - and posted the link on flightsim.

Fravin / François-Denis' works include not only the famed Cessna 150, but also the Robin DR-221, per the archived page of FS-Tutoriels

cheers!

I did try all the usual sites to find the 150, with no luck, however, this Cessna 150 for FSX is very much out there.
I've not found the Robin DR-221 yet.

I had the 150 from before, & the DR-221 download is corrupt & gives a data error.
Maybe someone out there who has it, can share?
It will be much appreciated

guess the links are there but the files aren't

I have a texture for the 221, which means I have the plane somewhere (in a collection of CDs/DVDs dating back 25 years ...kept meaning to catalog that but am insufferably lazy)

I remember trying both of those aircraft many years ago. The Cessna 150 would pull to the left when taking off. Don't recall any issues with the Robin at all.

Thanks so much.
I've had a very quick look, It seems that the DR221.gau is referenced in the panel.cfg & is missing.
I could be mistaken, but I checked all the panel folders to see if it is hiding there.
Could you possibly check for me?

Much thanks & appreciation,
Regards
Robin

Here's the C150

I forgot that when an aircraft has a separate Gauges folder I usually move the contents to my main Gauges folder rather than keep it in the local Panel folder. It saves duplication and means the gauges are available to all panels, (my one TB FS9 SSD is almost full).

The only problem with the above is my main gauges folder has 15,855 files in it. Luckily if you know the CAB or gauges name it is no problem to find them.

You may have noticed the other change I made, and that is the main panel BMP: DR221maincopie.bmp

I have removed the partial cockpit surround, it serves no purpose and just gets in the way. If you wish to return to the original just rename the: DR221main copie.bmp to something else and remove the OLD from the: DR221maincopieOLD.bmp and you will be back to how the author intended.

The zipped CAB is attached. And thanks for the Cessna 150, it brings back memories of the 19 hours I spent in one during my student pilot days.

Much thanks, I also dump the gauges into the Gauges folder.
Sometimes I wonder if it makes a difference.
Then, on the other hand, having them in the Gauges folder makes it easier when setting up a new install of the sim... I end up copying the Gauges & Effects folder from one sim to the other.

Thanks to ZSwobbie1 for the Fravin Cessna 150. It has forced me to look at the Cessna 150/152/Aerobats I have and which I want to keep in my main Aircraft folder.
It turned out with the Fravin I now have four in my main aircraft folder:

A Cessna 150 tail dragger (apologies to the authors, I don’t have any file to tell me who you are, but thank you!) it comes with and without spats:
C 150 Tail dragger.jpg
It has opening doors and the same panel as fitted to the Narcizo model.

Secondly my most used 150: the J.E Narcizo model, with or without spats, opening doors and a panel close to what I remember from my 19 hours I spent in a 152 and 152 Aerobat from my student pilot days:
C 150 Narcizo.jpg
and its excellent panel:

Then there is the C152 of captain D’Attomo:

And its panel:

The next model C150 Aerobat I had consigned to a back-up folder the RanchoJEN, it uses the stock Cessna 172 panel and flies very smoothly:

And finally the Fravin. Probably the nicest looking mode even if the doors don’t open. It only has a VC but the Narcizo 2d panel works well with it. In flight it seems to want to twist to the left. If I can sort the flight problems this with the Narcizo panel will be my favourite.

nonsense, the doors do open, but shift+e is non-functional, per pages 8 and 9 of the manual: " Un clic sur la porte ouvre la porte droite (un clic sur une fenêtre ouvre les 2 fenêtres"

it would not be too unwise an idea to have a thorough go through the manual before you start flying Fravin's C150 ;)

cheers!
