CFS2 to FS2004

How easy (or hard) is it to convert a plane from CFS2 to FS2004?

There are some nice ones there that could be worthwhile in FS2004.

Regards, Robin

The more "modern" CFS2 models will work without any real issues in FS2004, like most "modern" FS2002 models will work in FS2004. In some cases the flight dynamics will not really work. Many CFS2 models are a bit nose heavy in FS2004 and some won't take off.

It is mainly a matter of trying....

Thanks, Huub, I thought so.
I quite like that L2D3 The Japanese C-47/DC-3 that was previously posted & thought it would be worth a try to port over.
I put in the correct manufacturers details in the aircraft.cfg, added the missing effects entry & copied across the gauges from CFS2.

I just need to try it out now. I quite like the unusual stuff that CFS2 sometimes has, such as that B-17 (Canard) Flying Fortress.zip from our library. I really like supporting our freeware developers.

Robin

I've converted a lot of CFS2 planes to FSX, and to have them fly well you first have to fly them in FS9. I can send you a tutorial if you like, just send me a pm.

hertzie.
