Hi,
I have recently started replaying some of my older games and have encountered a problem running CFS2. The last time I played with it on my desk top I had an older OS. I am now running Win7 on a new HP desk top. I had saved all of my game files on a flash drive and then transferred them to my new hard drive, where they were apparently installed correctly. I played CFS3 (w/several addons) FSX and others with no problems, but when I clicked on the icon for CFS2 it at first wouldn't load at all, but after several tries I got to the welcome screen and clicked play, but nothing happened. I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game, changing the compatibility setting (there was a Win7 option) and have also tried launching it directly from the exe.file in the CFS2 folder, all to no avail. I took my machine to a tech who could also not get it to run, and his opinion was that the game was too old to work with newer OSs like Win7. Is this true? I can still play the game on my old laptop which uses XP. Is there a way to make CFS2 run on machines with Win7, or am I just out of luck? I would also like to build up my library of flyable aircraft in Il-46 and I was wondering if there was a way to mod CFS 2/3 planes to make them work in Il-46, and if so how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
