CFS3, ETO, Maw, ...scenery and ground texture quality Quesiion

Hi,
since my reinstallation of the games (HD crash) I have few scenery quality problems. I have already implemented the 2048x2048 suggestions from RegHangar but I still have "shimmering" on some ground textures AND it seams that the load of some ground texture is very slow , especially after warping ... I fly above the sea but I still have ground tiles around .....
I did not have this behavior before the HD crash.

Some recommedations?

Only tried with CFS3, I did not yet adjust the other games

OK, thanks I'll try this.
Concerning the ground and the water texture : if there is no river around all is OK if there is a river an entire tile of ground becomes water .....

Hello, After more testing CFS3 I found when I fly from ground to sea . The water is like a large river and futher I have ground textures again ....

no idea?

Hi Emile, just a long shot in terms of improving graphics - CFS3 likes to run on the maximum resolution that your monitor can handle. Is your monitor set to its max resolution? Just looking at your specs I thought perhaps it could handle an increase...

good luck, D

Hello more information ...

I have NO problems in PTO and Korea ...

In CFS3, ETO and MAW when I fly over water there is a square surface with water below the aircraft the rest is ground texture. When the aircraft moves a new square of water is generated and the "old" one becomes groud texture.
I have tested with several Nvidia video drivers from newest to more old, different resolutions up to 1920x11440, default settings in cfs3config.exe .... no positive result.

For ETO I will try to re-upgrade to 1.3 ....

I am lost !! Panic 15 airborne .....:173go1:

Hello,
As I find NO solution I have decided to delete all the CFS3 (like) games and put all in the freeze... until I have more time.

Regards to all and thanks for your help

:bump:Hello,

In fact I still search why I have this "water texture" problem.....

So I had a total HD crash. I have installed a new HD , formattted ... and reinstalled Vista 32b SP1 from the installation CD + the SP2 and the required windows updates...
I install CFS3 from the CD run it and I have "the problem", so it seams that I miss something in my Vista installation.

I do remember the I had many XML versions installed before the crash now I only have the MSXML 4.0 Sp2 see attached screenshot. I see that CFS3 and related games are using a lot XML.
Can someone running Vista SP2 32b and CFS3 games with success tell me which XML modules are installed on his system? I wonder if CFS3 games do not need a certain version of XML...

Thanks in advance

Emile - forgive me if you know this but there's a download somewhere which runs though how to set up your cfs3config, have you done this? I can't remember where it comes from and I can't find it on my HD but it was called 'Sheps great set-ups' or similar.

Cheers,

Pat
