Just when you think a person can't get any dumber...
this will cleanse the gene pool a little.

I know, I saw it right away too... No safety glasses or hearing protection!

And I caught something else that is really important: he has no gloves on. I might be
up in age but I am still sharp as a tack!

Regards,
Ian.

In the UK, tool hire outlets are not allowed to hire chainsaws to people who can't show an operators proficiency certificate. BUT!! They are allowed to sell you one!

Health and Safety gone mad. As well we know.

I hope this is a joke!

Not only hope, I KNOW this must be a joke... forget about ear protection, eye protection or gloves!
The one thing never mentioned is that - should the saw turn on - this man stands to lose testicles, and
worse yet... have his abdominal cavity split in two for all the contents to fall out! Otherwise, the comment
is that of a person who can't see the forest for the trees..... not really sharp as a tack.... In the business I
was in (anesthesiology) one had to prioritize... and testicles win hands down (no pun intended) against eyes,
ears and hands...:isadizzy::mixedsmi:

Everybody missed the most outstanding and glaring error ..... no Hard Hat !!! :=)

GLH, I think if that cranks on the first pull, the hard hat will be the LEAST of his worries..... :mixedsmi:

All joking aside, there is a Danish chainsaw manufacturer who has actually placed a warning lable on the chain guide:
"Warning: do not attempt to stop chain with hands!" :icon_eek:

Sounds like some of the OSHA people moved to Denmark!

A few years back, Brussels compelled a manufacturer of Rubber Boots (= gumboots, wellies, Wellingtons) to provide a 22-page User Manual with each pair.
Google EU lunacy and you will find pages of stuff like that.
Cheers

The thing that got me the most was learning that in the UK there is such a thing as a "chainsaw operators proficiency certificate." If I had to have a proficiency cert for every potentially dangerous tool I've ever used I'd need a filing cabinet to store them all.
