Changing evening/morning sky colors

hi guys. I know some of you use reshade/tomato shade/PTA/URP etc. to tweak your environment for P3D. Honestly, Im pretty happy with just the default. I get decent FPS and the sim generally looks good on my machine.

One area I would like to change...and only one... is the dawn and dusk sky colors. I want to add some red to the horizon and make it look like a proper sky at that time of day. if I only wanted to change that, whats the best way to do it?

I'd recommend you to start with the freeware stuff.
The HDEv2.1 by Pablo Diaz.
I insinst on the "2.1", because the original 2.0 won't be compatible with FSX.
2.1 was made specifically to be compatible with FSX (and P3D).
It contains some sky textures which look good. I use them in P3Dv4, and I love them. I also use TomatoShade.

EDIT: on that page, they adapted the textures for FSX, but they kept the "2.0" version number...

Have you looked at rex skyforce, it has textures, pta presets and new cloud models (not to mention weather engine)

it also can load sky textures that suite the current weather

I'm also a REX Skyforce user. It also works together with PTA (you can integrate it). What I like is that you can randomize the sky colors to your liking, or define a 10 day period where you can alter it from day to day, so the sky won't look the same each time you enter the sim.

Cheers,
Mark
