Christmas sales purchases...

Yikes! I went a little overboard on all the sales. I did a twelve addons of Christmas thing (Not to mention all the great freeware I was gifted this season!) I'll have plenty of flying to do this year.

My wallet hurts.

Thinking about the Carenado T-34 - I had the FS2004 version but wasnt that impressed and am thinking that the newer model may be almost the same thing?

Loving the V35 though, but notice it doesnt do that yawing in the air, that the real one does. Sat in the back once and it made me quite sick with its constant movement.

I'll be glad when the month is over and I go back to buying the odd aeroplane every once and a while. Keep looking at the PCAviator site and 'thinking do I really need that?', but yesterday gave in and purchased the Alabeo SU-26.

Wish I had bought that earlier as am quite enjoying myself, but not so when trying to land - bouncy, bouncy - least go arounds are very quick. I like a challenge and this aeroplane is certainly giving me that now.

Best wishes,

Martin

Thanks to all those shopping with us !! :wavey:

Remember, the FSAddon sale is still on until January 10th...... for those with some cash left! :icon_lol:

Well, now its like 10-20%. Last year it was close to 50% and how I have regretted not buing the Vancouver a year ago. But no problemo, I've got alligators patience...

Ah yes, gotta jump on the opportunities when they present themselves ! ;-)
Unfortunately 2012 has not been too good for many people, including us, so no deep pockets here either........ maybe 2014 :kilroy:

It wasn't exactly a christmas sale, but I bit the "season" bullet and bought a 3D model of a F4U Corsair to have a look at it.
It has most animations, a good texture set with bump maps and a Photoshop paintkit, and seems to be compatible to FSX/P3D as far as the vertex count goes.
The royalty free license allows for game conversion and redestribution as long as the target format is proprietary.

It will give me something to do after the scenery work. But to bring this into the Sim will still be a big feat. I have never made an aircraft, but a lot of scenery objects.

Mark,

That Corsair looks great!
VC will be the most trouble. VC and Gauges is as much work to model as the exterior, maybe more. But it's a nice challenge!
When will your scenery be ready?

Cheers, Rob

I'm still at it. I have to revisit all places to check for elevation errors after correcting and bringing in the HD mesh into the scenery. But it's worth it, the new mesh looks stunning.
I'd rather give no ETA figures. It'll pop up some day in the near future :)

Cheers,
Mark
