It's a joy to just sit and look:mixedsmi:

I like to pose a shot from vc as if the pilot were about to get into the 'pit standing on the wing. Sometimes this is not a good idea as modelling detail falls off past the pit itself in vc mode but on this model everything is there as you'll see in the first shot of the last three.

Problem is Roger, I dont think people realise how good this model actually is, I respect peoples wows and comments but the're more than likely based on visuals and screen shots, not on modeling skill.

Theres more to this model than a pretty dress, take the two anotated images below, that engine bulge, thats not a stuck on bulge we often see, but a blended in part of the model, thats not that hard to do, but very very hard to do with no polys in torsion or ripples in the skin, more so in the engine cowl than the actual bulge.

In the second image, that vent by the windscreen, thats a full rounded edge there, not a flat or single plane edge as often seen, and then blended into the casing !, very hard to do and look good. We're talking polys with dimensions in millimeters, only possible in FSx after the 3mm weld bug was removed, but none the less exquisite model work.

Sadly though I think I see a little issue ?, it looks like the outer skin isnt attached to the canopy rail, is that the ground ( unlikely as I know Mathias closes all holes ) or the cockpit floor that can be seen through that little slot, I'm no Fw190 experten but as an engineer I'd think that outer skin would be fixed to the canopy rail, having said that, I'd be pleased to be proven wrong :).

As a final comment, thats the best canopy framework in the VC I've ever seen, so many times developers cut corners here and produce clunky frame work, all for the sake of a few hundred saved polys at best.

Kindest

Michael.

Two weeks be sure.:costumes:
Aw, no, that was O.M. from R.
Not too far into January. :kilroy:

I can't wait that long!! I need it now!! Please.......?:costumes: Something to look forward to in Jan.; other than more endless winter day in the hell that some call New York.:icon_lol:

Your right, not all of us are modlers. But that doesn't mean we don't understand the work and detail that goes into making a FS aircraft. In other words, never under estimate us buyers and flyers!:icon_lol::wavey: That's just a comment/observation not an attack Micheal, please don't be offended!

Good eye, I also see the gap between the canopy rail and the skin.

THanks much Michael!

Michael.

Eagle Eye you!
Yes, that's actually a shot from the VC, eyepoint moved outwards. The external model does not have those gaps.
The usual polygon saver technics that is, delete some polis not visible from the eyepoint.
There is currently one other such spot and that's the back of the seat in the VC.
I figure I can as well put those polys back in since it's just peanuts.
Thanks for pointing that out Michael. :wavey:

Heh, heh, OK I don't know what "O.M. from R." means but I'll content myself with "more then a day and less then a month". :costumes:

Really can't wait to add this one to the hanger. Even thought it's just screen shots there's enough hints in those to give some idea of all the touches that have been put in and I think, knowing your other work, I can say you guys are doing a fantastic job as usual. :medals:

Cheers,
Rick

Quit being PC and put some damn swastikas on the thing.

Like this :costumes:

fw190a_em3.jpg

As Classics Hangar is based it Germany it is not possible to include the Swastika in the package. But don't worry the provision is there.

When you want a Swastika on the tail , you will get one! And you don't need to be a repainter to install it

Cheers,
Huub
