If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

as i typed the bomb shelter thing,i was listening to my scanner, all of a sudden two men began yelling,,,"Pawnie landing 7,abort abort,a cessna is mid take off 25,,pawnie abort".......ok..i change that the pawnie was taking off..cessna skylane was trying to land on 07,,but he made a hard turn to port and left the area,,,they are now chasing him to get a tail code number to report him....

my question...is that the correct thing to do?..chase the guy in airplanes to get the tail number? and report to FAA or whoever?...or just file a report and hope for the best?

No, it's an uncontrolled field, this happens pretty frequently through the US, worse if one aircraft in the pattern does not have a radio. These guys could get in more trouble for "chasing" someone down.

i was listening to more of this later.they followed "chased" the plane north, one guy ID'd himself as a police officer, and claimed there were rules and regs as to using the radios properly..but like you said...its an un-controled airport, and some planes like old J3 cubs dont even have a radio, unless handheld,so how is it against the rules and regs?
