The US Navy has this aviation safety magazine called “Approach”. The idea there is that you tell your harrowing tales of doing stupid things, in the hope that I might learn from your experience without having to do the same stupid thing myself first. There are a lot of amazing stories there. One in particular I remember because the story seemed to match so well the video in this thread. The difference was that all four souls on the plane were very experienced naval aviators, suffering from “get-there-itis”, the affliction that causes pilots to do dumb things because they don’t want to divert or not go in the first place.
