Club day at KRNOV

Shots from the second leg. . . .is Czechoslovakia really this barren and flat (more or less)?

Far from it; I'm told it is a beautiful country, especially Bohemia which is surrounded by a number of mountain ranges.

There is a wealth of scenery addons, including landclass and terrain mesh, at the Flightsim Periskop site; unforunately it won't necessarily fit the period you are flying in, but it reproduces the modern day Czech Republic pretty well.

I assumed that it was probably that I only have default ground textures for Europe. I've flown all but the last leg and the terrain and ground textures look the same now (almost into Belgium) as they did when I took off in the Czech Republic. . . .very mundane and boring really.

I don't know if I can handle doing the flight again, even if the scenery is better. . . .flying an airplane whose cruise speed is less than the speed I drive going into town, just isn't me, lol. Thanks for the HU. . .time period doesn't concern me at all, whatever is available will be fine. . .I'll take a look and see what they have.:salute:

Absolutely, and not just confined to the west.
There is some great, immaculately autogenned, photoreal over most of the country - this over LKMI.

Brakes (Again)

Well wait uno momento, por favor. I can't help it if author of BH-55 modeled in brakes. And not knowing what controller (or sensitivity or null) he used, his making toe brakes value of '=10' (to compensate for his lack of xyz) WILL cause it to tip over on nose on any 'average' profiled system. This ruins it for ME. So at the risk of scrapeing off some 'purist' skin, I will re-instate my earlier post 'fix' to prevent this nose over (or at least until somebody removes the brakeing from the model). This change is IMPORTANT.

[brakes]
toe_brakes_scale= 0.650 //o=10

I watched a YouTube video where Mr Obrovsky posted a comment and suggested to the simmer to 'use less fuel to prevent the nose heaviness'. (See my fix-earlier post). So toe brakes=10 and 'less fuel' to FIX? Sorry, but this is not acceptable. Not when there is a simple fix that will work/apply for everyone. (Well....ALMOST everyone).

Brakes, no brakes... in the privacy of your sim, you can do anything ;)

Actually I went trawling Youtube, and found the memorial Prague/Brussels flight.
Egads, the model has pretty authentic sounds!

Well, the model has really authentic sound because the guy who provide that model is also member of the 'Czech Historic Flight' association which operates both replicas BH-1 and BH-5 (http://www.historicflight.cz/)

Furthermore, the BH-5 engine is the original piece from 1920s so it is really authentic :)
The pilot of the BH-5 Mr. Mikulecky stated the model is VERY close to the real plane behaviour... So enjoy (even without brakes :icon_lol:)

Czech and Slovak simulator flying

Very true Chuck, but it's fun ferreting around the Periskop site, there are some real gems that can easily get overlooked on the 'mainstream' sites. The Czechs seem to have a very vibrant & creative flightsim community, and the scenery files at Periskop (for example) can give you a pretty complete & very immersive flying experience in the Czech Republic, and in Slovakia.

There are other websites on the Czech simulator flying, just periscope, which may not know:http://medlanky.bumper.cz/index.html, http://www.flightsimulator.cz/repainty/aeroklub, http://flyvirtual.webnode.sk/. There will also find many interesting and painting of aircraft FSX, FS9 and X-Plane

Ahoj Premek a Jozef. Welcome to the forum!!

I agree Jozef, there seems to be a very active community of Czech & Slovak FS fans. Some lovely addons have come from there. :applause:
