It depends a bit on the plane your flying, but most of the time, reducing the weight to zero does the trick.

Select one of the four choices as your copilot and the seat will be empty from both internal and external views. I use this for planes that won't give me a copilot in the interior view.
 
Interesting.. Must try this.

Now, to quote our illustrious thread starter... "I am a bit rusty in this...." I recall in earlier sims there was a way to disable the pilot's voice. I have not found this option in MSFS2020. Am I missing something obvious?
