You don't realise how narrow the LeO actually was - when you see it from the side, you assume it's a twin seater, so about the same width as a B-25 or something - but it isn't.
 
Hampden's even narrower! In the Leo, you can just squeeze in and out of the pilot's seat in flight. In the Hampden, you're well and truly there for the duration!
