Colourful Comets.

Really looking forward to these.....

Once this thread started I dusted off my Comet and did a little tinkering with the FM and effects just waiting for these skins to get uploaded. Since most of us probably don't fly the stock FS9 aircraft anymore we tend to forget how cool some of them are. So, Jamie, just a little note to remind you there IS definitely interest for these.....Anxiously patient.........Bill

Thanks guys, glad they're of interest.

I messed around with the FM myself some, she does seem to fly nice enough, hitting top speed requires some mixture control and best altitude. Problem is she's a little slow to accelerate, and almost impossible to slow down, yikes!! If I'm not careful she'll creep very slowly to overspeed, and nothing stops her, lol.

Jamie

PS. have to admit, I love some of the defaults, Comet, Cub, C172, Baron, Ford, etc. Dunno why, just a little character about them I suppose. I have hundreds of pounds of Payware, still have plenty time for the defaults.

Sorry Ed,

not as yet, you can blame Just Flight, they sent me an e-mail with links to an associate site selling games downloads, they had the entire Commandos set, 5 games for just £2. Had always wanted to try it since they were released way back, so took the chance to grab them. This site has since sent me a few e-mails on deals, got Men of War for £3 (think Sudden Strike in full 3D, which used to be a fav of mine, so that ate a lot of time, lol.) and Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising for £7.50 (tested it and it looks amazing, but haven't got into it yet).

This has lead to stand still with the paints I'm afraid. Was strangely enough planning to get back to them this weekend, a bit more relaxing than all-out-war.

I'll zip up one and post it here just for you so you can beta it as is, any requests?

Jamie

reduced file size by deleting VC textures, nick them from a default and copy them into the folder, they haven't been changed yet anyway..

fingers crossed,
Jamie

PS. no luck, will try again after dinner.

Jamie

PS. Photoshop has decided to not even launch, will maybe have to reinstall it.

Thanks DL,

the yellow one works to download too, wasn't sure the max zip size one could attach, but they seem to work. The two pre-release versions are K-5084 and K-5084 fictional trainer yellow. Both RAF :d

Hmmmmm... both seem to error out....

Jamie, both zips seem to error out (at least for me) around the 4 meg mark......

Boy, I must be brain dead or what!! Downloaded both of the zip files and both seem invalid or corrupt (A and AY). Are these zip files of a folder with multiple bmp files within or a rename of just a single file? Thanks in advance. Ed

I had a similar thing, but I resumed the download and it finished fine. I use Opera as my browser, not sure if other browsers allow a resume on downloads? I have no idea how to make it work for you, I'll try one of those file upload sites maybe.

Jamie

Ed,

sorry about this, they are zips of the texture folders with the bmps within, I used 7zip to zip them up, it's a great free zip proggy that can produce much smaller files than winzip and such (in a different .7z format though) http://www.7-zip.org/

just gonna download the latest version.

Jamie

Success!!!

Jamie, this is some darn fine work! I like them very much! Really looking forward to the next one. :salute:

Yea Jamie, it works now!! Very neat the oil leaks around the engine nacelles. Fisrt two look great to my eyes. Very good. Thank you. How is work on the Blueberry Australia one going? Thanks again, and take care.

Ed
