I have uploaded the Akemi Focke Wulf Upgrades set today.

I've been working on this set of Akemi's Focke Wulfs for the 354th FG campaign for a bit over a month and finally have the flight file performance working acceptably for both the player and AI aircraft. Not perfect. There is a trade off between sea level speed and rate of climb so I wound up choosing a middle ground for both, rather than totally sacrifice one. Still, it's a big improvement.

Some planes were modified to represent different marks that we didn't have which you will see in the posts. All now have historically correct guns and ordinance as well as new skins. For those who like Akemi's FWs but would rather not have the shine there is a flattened reflectance model as well.

This one is the mz-FW190A-5

THis is Akemi's FW190A-8 modified as an A8/R2 Sturmbock from JG301. This plane did not have the side armor fitted, probably saving weight for maneuverability because of the heavy presence of US escort fighters by 1945

That looks great Kurt. But just an idea. Maybe gun tubes would be fitted to better reflect the outboard MG151/20s that the A-6 used rather than the stubby MG/FFs.

Oldwheat posted gun barrels for use with the DP a while back. They should be in the archive under his moniker, but if you can't find them, send me a PM.

By the way, stupendously good work on those new textures!

Amazing work!! This is exactly what these birds needed, thank you for all the time and effort you put in.:salute:

Kurt,

Outstanding work, I know how hard you've been slaving over these! :ernae:

Captain Kurt,

I hope you don't mind, but for those two corrections you uploaded, I simply replaced the original packages with the new files, that way it's less confusing!

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

Rami, that's perfect. If I had been more awake while I was putting the posts together, a correction would not have been necessary. Thank you.

WHAT? A revision for the FW190A update packages already?

Yep. Per Wulf190's worthy suggestion to add gun tubes over the original cannons to better represent the different cannon configurations on the different marks, the FW190A-5, FW190A-6, both FW190A-8s and both FW190A-8/R2s have been updated to use the gun tubes for the wing cannons. Flashes are adjusted to match.

While I was at it I took the opportunity to do a little update on the pilot figure as well. The parachute harness & collar is basically from an IL2 pilot skins set done by Spyros Tsimas
"elephant" I repainted and adapted for CFS2. The face, helmet, suit etc are my painting, but I think the harness makes the effect so Mr. Tsimas should get the most credit.

The sets have been uploaded but I have asked Rami to replace the earlier version with the new sets - no point in having only slightly different versions of the same plane in the library.
