To all,

After much delay, I have decided to release the long-awaited Royal Australian Air Force and the updated Papua New Guinea campaign. These two campaigns represent the wrap-up of my field deployment in the Pacific, for now. I hope you enjoy them.

Remember, the campaign for the Australian side is dynamic, so you can fly it more than once!

A few people to thank....

A big thanks goes to my dedicated beta testers. These include Ravenna, Kdriver, EC_ILO, and Devildog73. It has proven very valuable to have feedback and suggestions on ways to improve the missions. Other members such as Shadow Wolf 07 and Talon also proved instrumental in correcting problems and offering suggestions.

Another big thank you goes to Cody Coyote, whose handbook has proven very valuable in helping me create a dynamic campaign for the Australian side.

Thanks also go out to Dvslats, for creating a GSL layout for Salamaua!

Another thank you goes out to Talon for his amazing contribution of seven missions flown by the US Navy to supplement another great campaign package.

A final thank you goes out to the original designers of “In Defense of Australia,” namely Jorge Alsina and Joe Amodea. This was an award-winning campaign when it was released in 2002, and has brought many years of enjoyment to scores of CFS2 enthusiasts since then. This update is not meant to upstage or marginalize their efforts, it is actually meant as an “homage,” taking a great campaign and updating it with newer aircraft, scenery, and library objects, thus allowing an entirely new group of fans to enjoy this work!

For future reference...

When Edrufle releases his Australian sounds pack, I will write a quick note in this thread on how to install them. It's really quite easy, so don't worry about that.

Also, if and when EC_ILO sends me any corrected or altered missions for the Australian side, and Lindsay Watt releases his P-40e Warhawk, I will release a small pack with just the updated missions for you to overwrite the originals. This is not a huge deal, and should not affect the quality of the campaign in any way.

Now get up there and fight! :gameon:

These two (original) campaigns were among the first I flew when discovering cfs2 some years ago. I look forward to trying the new versions!

Thank you, Rami!

Smacking head...

Hey guys,

In the Papua New Guinea campaign, follow Deckard's link for finding David Copley's Triple Play pack!

"Is this any help?

http://library.avsim.net/search.php?...root&Go=Search

I logged on and typed in "Triple play" and up it came." - Deckard

You'll have to apply for a free membership at Avsim to get it, but it's there.

Call it a "Homer" moment. D'oh! :banghead:

I better make another install for RAAF. I just downloaded both campaigns. I thought I better get them now, just in case something happens to the add-ons section (whoops, did I say that?). Sounds like ya had a few of the big guns of CFS2 working with ya, Rami. Thanks all of you. :salute::ernae:

Mariereid,

Actually, you'll find that there is considerable overlap between these campaigns and DEI. For example, I am using the same Nell, the same Betty, the same P-40e, the same SBD, the same Zero, the same P-39, the same Ki-21 Sally, and the same Oscar.

In addition, that scenery base is the same, the only difference is that I have you install some new airfields.

The rest are all objects, ships, (some of these you may have already) and yes, there are some new aircraft.

Ah yes, I remember you saying that. That will save some time. I am TRYING to learn a little about scenery right now, so I will have to wait for a while to install them. If some of the fellas send in some screen shots of the campaigns, I will be able to see what I'm missing, dang it! Thanks, again, don't stay away from the Pacific too long!:salute:

Jagd,

Remember, this is a little more than just your standard update. Twenty-two new missions have been added to the package, making the Australian side much more interesting and varied than the original campaign. You can thank Talon for that, both for creating the seven Coral Sea Task Force missions and recommending the conversion of Mauro's Port Moresby campaign.

Sorry Rami, don't seem to be able to find them ...

Hey guys,

Would someone please conform they are able to download this from the CFS2 Library add-ons section?

All I get is a blank screen with "no entries or no permissions" message if I use the shortcuts...

If I use the menu buttons to navigate I don't see anything new...

If you use the "what's new" link, there's nothing in the list ...

It's there allright

Yep - tried immidiately the thread came up, but alas - not there. But now it's all joy and shows up no matter how I try to get at it. Yes sir, it's really there - thanks a lot Rami:salute:
