COMET PROFESSIONAL FOR FSX & FS2004

i love the one David Maltby did for FS9. One of my all time favorites. To be able to fly an FSX Native version would be wonderful

PS.. David maltby's version also flies beautifully in fsx as well but is still an fs9 model ( thoygh its hard to tell ).

Hi,

I wonder if the FSX version will be native, and I also wonder if it will be DX10 compatible and make use of FSX features such as spec and bump mapping. Seems strange that AH is making a FS9 model. Anyways, I'm sure Baz will be happy to answer this. Please Baz.....

Thanks for the heads up on this one! Been waiting for this bird for a long time. I am pretty sure it is FSX native as Aeroplane Heaven is the one that has been working on it. Their P-38 model that I have (also purchased from Just Flight) is awesome. So I expect no less from this model. I did not buy the Constellation so do not know how they have improved over the P-38. The commet will be worth it though. Here is their dev page saying that the Comet will have dedicated models for both FS2004 and FSX. http://www.aeroplaneheaven.com/dev_studio.htm

I do hope this is going to be cheaper than the CS 707 ! All these classic liners and not enough money, doh. David Maltby's classics are superb, but they take their toll even on my I7 in FSX, so really looking forward to a native FSX Comet.

Who's doing a Trident, 1-11 & VC10 then for FSX ?

I´ve been waiting a proper version of this baby for a while now. Great news !

I can imagine how people at Farnborough airshow '49 felt when the Comet arrived. Look the width of that runway.

Hi folks,

Ah I see JF have announced. Yes we are building said Comet. The 4C version. JF have asked for a dedicated FS9 model as well as the dedicated FSX so we are building both.

I think my favourite livery is the King of Saudi's personal aircraft. When you consider it was designed in 1961/2 it is very contemporary today.

Sweet!!. Youve even got that really weird autopilot i love in there.. I've also noticed you have it in Jade island native colors ( emerald and gold ) ::lol:;.. always a plus in my book..

Thanks Baz,

Just a quick question: On the AH website, it says that you will be doing Comet Prototype, Comet 2 and Comet 4 models. But here you only mention the Comet 4C. What happened to the others? An expansion perhaps? :jump:

We have much to do at the site. Since we switched, more or less, to contract work, we have been very remiss at updating the AH site. For the moment we are concentrating on just the 4C. We always like to include a prototype in our releases but the time it takes for yet another model is against us on this one. Maybe, as you say, an expansion....

For us, a lot is going to depend on the future for MS flightsims and how, I guess, our publisher friends are going to plan for MS Flight etc.

Incidentally Warchild, that's the Saudi livery...:wavey:

Even if your not into passenger jets, the comet is an awesome plane to fly.. historically, it was the worlds first jet airliner.. And when problems were discovered with using square windows, De Havilland was openly free with the information because they cared for their passengers.. Boeing hopped on the information right away and developed the 707 bfor3 De Havilland could recover from the effects of the crashes their first version had.. It wil nicely fly from Tokyo to Anchorage ( i've done it ), And being the original tubeliner, its a pilots plane. You gotta fly it.. :) :) .. David Maltby did an extraordinary job for FS9.. I'm really looking forward to this version for fsx..

regarding the color scheme on the Saudi livery. heh, what can i say. Their king had exceptional tastes :) :) ;)

I've always loved the Comet. I first saw one taking off from Mehrabad Airport in Tehran back in the early sixties. My father was the Chief Engineer for the USAID mission there (contract "loan" from the FAA).

My late dad's whispered comment was that "She climbs like a homesick angel!" :)

I like the Better On A Camel livery too! :)
