Been away awhile, but I'm coming back to my first love, CFS2. FS9 and FSX are nice, but you can't destroy nuthin'. It'll take awhile, it seems like I forgot what little I thought I knew. Now if I can only get "help" to work in a windows7 64-bit environment.

Welcome back Hern! Good to see you back in the basement.

I find CFS 2 runs best for me in Windows 7 when I put it in windows mode.

You came back to the right place H....we are still blasting things up here, and making more things to blow up. I'm on Vista but quite a few here on the later OS, should be some helpers around.

Ian,

You read my mind about that thread, cheers! :ernae:

Hern07,

It's a thrill to see you back in the Outhouse again! On a personal note, I want to tell you that I used that book.."Schwienfurt, disaster in the skies" you found at a yard sale for two missions..."Operation Juggler" and the Regensburg raid, which was the other side of the Schweinfurt mission.

Thanks again! :salute:

Thanks. The latest copy of PC Pilot has a tip that's good for all FS. Do a custom install directly on to your C drive, this seem to have cured most of my problems. Still can't use "help", but that's just a matter of time. Found this little gem, a line-by-line explanation of an aircraft cfg, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc526949.aspx. I stopped using cfs2 about 3 years ago when my old computer packed up. While looking through my old stuff to get back on CFS2 I found--wait for it--many old CD's I had downloaded before the great server crash. I have about 10 disks full of zip files, about 20 full of aircraft and assorted panels, sounds, etc. If you think they might be of use I would be glad to share them. You remember my wife was very ill. She survived, but is an invalid. So I spend my days taking care of her and get on the computer from about 0100 to 0400. I'm tired and tend to make mistakes. If I have any missing AC that you need i'll send them to you. Be patient--I'm slow and error prone. :kilroy:
