request "platform" in Helo

a request... on bended knee with sugar on top.:kilroy:

could you put in a hardened deck and possibly a boarding ramp "platform" in one of your choppers so that parachute jumpers
(see recent thread) could climb aboard and be carried aloft for a lil group multiplayer parachute action? -or perhaps add one to one of the chinook models?

just a request - no is a perfectly acceptable answer :ernae:

simple to do using the FSX SDK which supports platforms in Aircraft not just scenery-
create a planar surface or even clone the deck geometry with gentle ramp planar surface (vehicles cant jump up and in) - have that geometry already selected , use the attachtool , select platform , click attach to geometry ... done - compile: "platforms" become invisble and automatically have a "nocrash" attribute. if your helo is wide enough you could drive in a jeep and take it aloft. platforms dont have to be flat, they can be vertical ; (walled containments aligned to surface normals) , or curves ; ski jump ramps on british carriers...

here's my LCAC that will carry 4 hummers or 2 tanks over land and sea at 50 kts {VC still in work} - the platform geometry is green, but is invisible when compiled

...the hummer will come with the LCAC "amphibious assault set" and will have a platform in as well to carry my spec ops jumper as the gunner

... so how about that Chinook?

ok i get the creation part, seems easy enough, but if i am flying the chinook, how do i get something to drive in and stay in?

the early BETA with NO VC or Sounds is out at ukmil for CLUB MEMBERS to test. I am working on the VC as we speak, with Emmisive gauging

... loving the chinook - good stuff there mate. i was using the old FS9 chinook for the longest time but thats now been replaced - cheers

about carrying the jeep...
i was thinking mainly of multiplayer applications where a disciplined pilot could keep the ship fairly level and smooth-
wall platforms or even some kind of inclined lip around the platform should keep the gear from sliding off the platform for modest banks and nose down pitch and the back would always be open since platforms can't be linked to animations like aft cargo doors.
as far as driving something in thats why a gentle ramp is needed to make the transition from ground to cargo deck and ofcourse a jeep driver.

this also works using FSrecorder to record the helicopter flight then grabbing the jeep youself and playing back the helo flight as traffic

ok an update, this is nearly ready for release. just need to get some FSX sounds.

here is the HU5

Looks awesome, great job!! Can NEVER have enough FSX helis!! :ernae::ernae:
