I just did a Google for Classic Warbird Design Studios and came up with some really nice sets of repaints over at AVSIM. Will they work with the new CWDS FSX F6F that you are doing, Gavin? :snowman:

That is where I got Brian Hills repaint that I showcased a couple of posts ago.
No changes to any textures.

Should be released for FSX as soon as I write the Readme.

FX issue currently in P3D v4.

Can't wait to get it in the "hanger bay" to repaint it in VF-27 textures for USS Princeton in 1944 from AVSIM and post the results. Thank you so much for all your hard work and to Brian Hill for his repaints and his permission to convert it to FSX native. :loyal:

Just one thing found a problem with the contrails for FSX so I came up with these settings. Original set has the // in front of it.

Hi all,

I created an alternate prop texture for this newly converted F6F Hellcat. Can someone upload it the SOH library for me? I typically upload to Avsim, but it seems more appropriate to upload this to the SOH library to keep the files together.

This is a different model than the Vertigo Hellcat?
Yes, it is a different model, and freeware vs payware. There is also some confusion re: Virtigo. I originally got my "Virtigo" F6F under the creator called Real Flight.
 
This is P3Dv3. And you're right. In my FSX boxed, prop disc doesn't show up at all from within cockpit.
It works fine in p3d4.5, which of course is 64 vice 32 bit.

Often fiddling with the prop disk texture or its alpha file will fix that. The file is in the "texture" folder, kind of a way of aliasing common parts via the texture.cfg file in each available "texture.abcd" folder. More skilled people than I will probably have a fix soon.
 
Regarding VC prop texture.
I looked into it a bit deeper but can't quite figure out why it works in P3D but not in FSX.

Must be something in the way the prop is interacting with the canopy glass.

I will keep digging.

Hi folks
I have been contacted by someone and it was pointed out that the rudder on the external model was animated backwards.

My mistake for not catching it before release - all I can say is that my wife always complains that I don't know my right from my left.
That issue has been fixed.

I am still working thru the prop VC canopy issue in FSX.

Regarding the smokesystem - it doesn't seem to work in FSX or P3D (even when the lines are uncommented). I have tried the original FS9 models and they have the same issue in FSX so I don't know if this is fixable.

@Tommieboy, if you want to PM me then I can include your alternate prop texture in the next release
