Thanks Rami,

For all your great work, I'm developing new objects and improving my existing ones, are you interested for your next sceneries?

Cheers,

Gius

Gius,

Your timing could not be better. I am not going to make Paris into GSL, primarily because the city was never attacked. Though I am a sadist, I do not wish to drop bombs on the Arc de Triomphe or the Eiffel Tower. However, another city which will eventually need to be redone is Berlin. I do not know if the CFS1 objects for Berlin were ever fully converted to CFS2, this may have just been London.

I would love to have Berlin-specific buildings to do a fully GSL Berlin, just like I have done for London. I will be happy to use your churches and cathedrals as well as the Europe buildings for a little variety.

London looks excellent Rami, Guis, your cathedrals are very very nice. thanks for all of this great work on the "universe' of CFS2 guys, very much appreciated.

Hi Rami,

Churches and cathedrals are not complete, but i have done a specific set of Berlin monuments even more accurate than the cfs1 objects, although in the specific form of api macros, this because of the fact that i've intention to do several specific monuments for various ETO cities and i do not want to incur int the Dp limit...
Tomorrow i will be more precise.

Best wishes,

Gius

Good day to everybody,

I'm now improving my Euro Buildings and in the making process of the churches and cathedrals too... They all need damaged models and LODs, so you can easily use them to make your cities both in GSL scenery and missions.

Particularly, the multi buildings objects are designed to cover cities with a low impact on FR and a lot of detail, but they need the flattening before...

They have been produced spcifically for Berlin, but they are good also for any northern central european city.

I've intention to produce another set of buildings for medium and also small cities, both for MTO and ETO...
Cheers,

Gius

Andrew,

Fantastic, loving it! Tilbury made me smile and is pretty darned accurate, well done.

Maybe a little heavy on the FR's in London, and I'm going to have to get some of the items that are called for, but fun or what! :applause:

Can you or someone advise how to get rid of the 'other' naff Thames, what is it part of, if someone knows? Thanks.

Cheers

Mark,

If you ran the auto-install version of the BoB airfields at some point, I'd be willing to bet you have some extra scenery.bgl files that got installed into your SCENERY folder in your CFS2 installation, not into the SCENEDB folder. Compare it with a stock install and see if there is anything extra there.

I'm almost positive this is the culprit.

Ghost bridge

Rami,

can you give me the exact latitude and longitude of the gob-offending bridge you asked about? I am unable to find it.

Which is the nearest RAF airbase?

Cheers!

Stefano,

If you are referring to the bridge which is split, it's just north of Methwold at...

N52 34 20
E00 31 46

I just noticed on one of the bridges, there is a missing ramp. :banghead: Watch out for that first step, it's a lulu!

P.S. - I am using the original Methwold layout, not your updated version. I forgot to make the bridge with the right layout. I will correct that today.

Now a missing ramp......it's getting kinda interesting. Where is this other bugger?

Cheers!

P.S. You are doing more than just the BoB airbases, isn't Methwold a scenery Achim did? If you are including some of 2TAF sceneries, have I ever sent you 2TAF Brooklands with the Vickers factory I built based on a 1930's picture?

I don't know if this helps but.....

Hi there!

I went in and checked my rework of Achim's Methwold and the bridge is there, due north of the main runway.

I haven't noticed any problem, other than the different approach you and I take at our GSL work. I work according to a given scenery and I worry about gobs only when the notorious gob overlap bug occurs. I save the single scenery layout and all the objects I placed into an empty cfs2.gls using the MB built-in key combos taught to us by Lindsay Watts.

I then exit MB, go to the root \GSL folder and rename cfs2.gls to the scenery it reflects, in this case as an example, JHS_UK_Methwold.gls.
Then I add this single *.gsl file to a cumulative, theatre dedicated cfs2.gls with GSLEdit. Afterwards I archive away the reworked scenery *.lay and *.gls in case I need to go back and make changes. A necessity which arises every so often, for new objects available or when I discover an historical aerial view and realize my work is quite fictional.

I seem to understand you work at a single *.gls file, for upload purposes which changes your perspective completely. Hence the problem of a bridge laying over two gobs.

I prefer having single *.gls files always at hand, this also allows me creating more sparse early war and thick late war layouts. Methwold and its bridge work fine in my cumulative cfs2.gls, I never noticed a problem, even if it covers two gobs. I have several airports covering more than one gob, mostly with forest patches and trees, that I place away from the airport.

Have a nice w-end!

Stefano,

I was able to incorporate your Methwold layout with that of the bridges, so now the problem has been resolved with minimal overlap. Thanks!

Right now, I am overhauling Narvik. :very_drunk:

I did them but with out destryed models. I'm going back and adding destryed models too all of the landmark buildings (London Paris and Berlin). The destryed models will be basic rubble like all CFS2 buildings leave when destroyed.

I have to update my Rebuild of CFS1 Objects For CFS2.zip to fix the Geman Gas Truck that was using the same ID number as the the Flack Pazner. Also add the bridge0_third and bridge1_third that I though was not used in CFS1 as I didn't find DPs for them but they were used some how...

Here are 2 GSL missions that have landmarks for Paris and Berlin. They are placed as they are in CFS1. The Landmark_Flatens folder has flaten BGLs for Eiffel Tower/Park and Obelisque de Concorde but I think the the last covers more area. I think it covers from the Louvre Museum to the Arch De Triumph.

Allen,

Many thank yous on this. Unfortunately, the last couple of days I have been feeling quite ill, so I haven't had much enthusiasm to post. I do appreciate the effort, though! :wavey:

Thats not good...

I would have done it sooner if I had see your post asking about the Paris and Berlin landmarks but I missed it some how... Most of the landmarks use basic CFS2 rubble.
