I have a windscreen bmp and air.cfg so it looks and flies perfectly in FSX if you can't find them elsewhere. Definately worth doing.

Glad I can be of assistance:ernae:
Thanks much. The textures seem to still be available in the avsim link further up.
I'm a fan or anything from North American Aircraft or Rockwell so this is great.
Now just need to get it working in FSX.
:ernae:

This won't be done for a few days, but I'm working up a HD VC panel for the 690. Readable placards, labels, etc. Mostly just a lot of things more in focus. . . .not photoreal, just hand-drawn but some might find it usable.

Am posting the bmp texture - NB: it goes in EACH paint texture folder (not the panel folder) and my air.cfg - you may want to make sure you save and use your own repaint entries at the top.

Whoo Hoo!! Great news Ed. This is a beautiful model and even more so in FSX. Partly to do I think with it having fairly large-ish/hi res textures. An interior tidy up is just the ticket.

lol, this is typical of why the teacher in my 12th grade Geometry class told me, "This isn't that hard. . .you make things much more difficult than you need to". After completing about 80% of the new VC panel I decided to put it into the airplane and see how it looked. Ran it through DXTbmp and loaded the sim. NO PANEL. . . . .it was the same original panel. So I went back and looked through all the textures (in the aircraft texture folder) and this was the only "vc_panel" texture. . . .what gives. I went to the panel.cfg file and looked at the VC cockpit entries (in hindsight that's where I should have started) and lo and behold the designers had taken the vc and cut it up into 6 sections and all of those textures are in the panel folder, lol.

In my defense, after all of the cockpit/VC panel upgrades I've done, not one of them had VC panel textures in the panel folder, they've always been in the texture folders, usually done as a left side and right side or with some older ones, a single texture and given that this VC was a bit blurry, it seems correct that the texture I was working on "vcpan_690" was the right one.

So, I'm going to try to get everything else completed on the layered version I'm doing and once everything is in place, I'll merge the layers and cut and paste the sections into the 6 separate textures for the VC. . . .grrrrrrrrrr.:salute:
