Compositetexturebudget.xml & 256k tweak

I have a question about the first line in the compositetexturebudgets.xml in CFS3....

<Budgets PatchPixelDim="256" MinPatchDimUseThumb="4096">

What exactly are those two budget values defining in the game's scenery?

the 256 value for PatchPixelDim is doubled from the original stock CFS3 texturebudgets.xml, I think I saw it first in Ruff Dawgs "256k tweak" in the add ons archive.... can it be doubled again, and made into a 512k tweak? or even quadrupled to be a 1024k tweak??

If anyone knows the secret inner workings of the txturebudgets.xml and can answer these questions for me, I would be grateful.... I am still pursuing my never ending quest for the best graphis and scenery I can possibly dial in or tweak out of this SIM....
