Confused about the 486th Fighter Squadron...

Well it doesn't show up as a error on start up,now I'm getting missing weapons in Missions; but when I go to combat and check the plane they are there(Ithink)

Also on a side note why is the plane I'm flying barely able to lift off, the others or mostly in the air by the time mine lifts off:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Easy Flier,

1) Provide a list of the missing weapons.

2) What aircraft? And are you talking about the 354th?

And, I can still help with your scenery.cfg if you need it.

Give me a while on #1 as I can't read those names with these new screens in cfs ETO.

I tried the P-51 Old Crow(all the other planes all looked the same) and the P-47. It is in the 354th and 486th

Here is the scenery again

EF..

.......just a small question here. When you tried to delete the "various 2" in your scenery.cfg file , did you have the game running and minimalized? I deleted mine with no problem through the use of opening the file in Windows Explorer?

As to the sounds. This is a small guide that I put together for myself of just about all the engines that were utilized in the time period and their applications. View attachment 3527....

Near as I can tell it is missing model wep_db_ger_sd_250 in library and a 50 and another. Could they be german bombs? I looked for those on simouthouse and simviation didn't find.

EF.......

....what the game is looking for are the Debolt (DB) German weapons. Go here as they are in the library;
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links_search.php?action=show&userid=92655&sort=d

DB= DBolt.

As to the previous post about Achims airfields look through the library and get Achims "New" airfields and utilize them. The caption on the file picture will be the name of the file in a blackbar ie:"JHS_Germany".
In fact here are all the files by Achim. Go here; http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links_search.php?action=show&userid=584&sort=d

Thanks Fibber,
I looked for everything but DB weapons. I had already put all the others in ,so now I got the Germans
Thanks again

All is good no errors.

Now can yoy tell me why the AI planes or lifting off before the one I'm flying, and if there is a fix. If I lift off with them my plane stalls..see pics I'm in the front

Get the lead out...

Easy Flier,
I think you are flying "Wing". So get her started quick and get moving.

Unless I'm mistaken. That part is hand edited into the mission. It can be reversed but it might change the dynamics of the mission. Don't open and re-save it in Mission Builder. As it will reset any hand written parts of the mission and ultimately ruin it.

There might be an easy fix but right off hand I don't remember how. If it is bothering you, you can look in CC's handbook, he does tell you how to do that. I'm not sure what else that might change.

If Captain Kurt did this one, which I think he did, you could ask him.

Other wise, GO GO GO...

Till Later,
John

Oh here is a trick to help.
As the mission is loading, hit the "E" key just when the screen goes black. You can also hit "P" key to pause. It will give you the time you need to get yourself into your seat.

Easy Flier,

On missions which involve ground attack or you flying as a wingman, the AI will take off before you. It allows the rest of the flight to follow the mission objective, and for AI to release their ordnance (especially on bombing missions) en masse.

You'll see that a lot with bomber campaigns, too. The AI almost always take off faster and climb better.

OK I got that.

Now I'm flying a 486th mission with the P-38's and I go to attack the ???(never could get close to them):banghead:; and the P-47 had no speed ,kept stalling out:banghead:. What am I doing wrong????

CFS2 can't be this hard to fly:very_drunk:

Good evening,

What is the mission title that involves P-38s? Also, are you using "hard" flight model realism? The CFS2 sim can overdo accelerated stalls in "hard" realism. "Medium" is better for combat.

Details on speed, altitude, and other parameters would be most helpful.

Easy Flier,

Ah, the Wilhelmshaven strike. Well, in that case, yes, this P-47 is a bit of a dog on the deck. I tried to give her a boost in the airfile, because out of the box she is underpowered a bit. Did you use the revised airfile and .cfg file in the AIRCRAFT folder to overwrite the originals?

As long as it's not "hard" realism, she can still corner pretty good under load as long as you don't apply full positive elevator in the turn. Make sure to use high (80% or better) power settings that low, and remember; along with the drop tank, she's carrying three 500lb bombs. Once you release those puppies and dump the fuel tank, handling become a lot better.

Mine has no bombs only the tank(tried to drop but couldn't).. I'll double check the airfile and cfg

Thanks

Easy Flier,

Never mind about the bombs, I forgot that mission has you flying top cover. You're right, you only have the drop tank. You do need to keep power settings high in that aircraft, though.
