Friends, when CF Center first opens, it shows 20 latest uploads. One of those is in the right "Archive" side, the one I want is the skin/texture for McDonald's Putt Putt Maru. When I click I get this:

Warning: include(/home/combatfs/public_html/archive/info.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/combatfs/public_html/index.php on line 49

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/combatfs/public_html/archive/info.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home2/combatfs/public_html/index.php on line
49

How can I access and download this file?

Also, the skin is for the Gryphon P-38L. This plane is not available at the Gryphon site. Is this plane available here, or where can I get it?

I'm learning guys. I noticed a great many have dropped off from CFS2, I'm ready to jump in with both feet.

Banzai!

TB,

I guess it was in early March that the Outhouse suffered a server meltdown. Most of the files in the library were eventually restored, but several are still MIA and unlikely to be recovered short of re-uploading them. Many members have done so, but as you can imagine, some files may never be seen again.

Jagd, I'm sorry to hear that. That answers a lot of questions about this site and you've been most helpful. I am currently downloading a P-38L from the Outhouse that was MADE from the Gryphon P-38, if had the skin from Cobrauk, would that still work on a plane made from the Gryphon? Also, is Gryphon closed up shop?

You're probably busy, and I have a lot of questions, these specifically to you:

I'm collecting the add-ons for your Battle Of France missions, I've run up on these issues:

(1.) JV44 seems to also be folded up, I cannot download anything from them, specifically you mention this:

"6. CFS 1 Airfields at: http://www.jv44redwulf.de/index.htm"

Can you point me to a source for these airfields, or a suitable replacement?

(2.) The site for Costa's Blenheim is closed:

"3. Blenheim: C.L. Posta’s Blenheim IV at: http://www.isoliti4gatti.com/daf.htm "

Can you point me to a source, or a replacement for this plane?

(3.) Question on the Hurricane for these two missions of yours:

"Hurricane Mk I Payware: Aeroplane Heaven at:
http://www.aeroplaneheaven.com/

Or the freeware Hurricane Mk I with Watt’s Propeller:

Hurricane Mk I Freeware: M. Giacomazzi’s Hurricane Mk I with Watts Propeller at:
http://digilander.libero.it/IceMauro/planes1.htm"

I downloaded 4 parts plus a fix for an Aeroplane Heaven Hurricane. Is this the one I need?

I think I have all the parts for FLYING BARRELS, you hve some rockin' missions, can you help me find these remaining parts for your BOF?

Thanks

The site and downloads appear to be working okay at my end. It might be your system configuration.

Most, if not all, isoliti aircraft are now here at the Outhouse:

Ah, Logan, IA....

...How far are you from Logan? I had a friend there once...

I'm about 2 hours ESE of Logan - that little town [P
opulation: 1438 (9 farm, 1429 nonfarm)] is north of Omaha on the Iowa side of the Missouri, a little bit North of Interstate 80.

I'm sittin' a little SE of Winterset, and about 30 miles due South of Des Moines.
--------------------------------------------------------------
It's funny - most locals I talk to say that Iowa is a great place to BE FROM... I like it here.

But then, I Did breathe California air for 50+ years before escaping... explains a bunch.

Glad I could help w/ the Maru - No Groundloops !

Thanks for the link.

I was through Iowa 9 years ago. I took Rt 80 all the way across the state and made a left down to Council Bluff. My "friend" was a young lady. She was native Iowan, and stated to me Iowa was Sioux for Idiots Out Wandering Around. I don;t know why, everyone I have ever met from Iowa was okay. Everyone was nice to me, a Des Moines police officer helped me with a vehicle problem.

Thanks again.

A Little Help

Hi there tonybones2112,
To help out on the missing items on your list,

Airfield

Blenheim
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=9649#download

AH_Hurricane
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/downloads/download.php?FileID=12715

If you have a mission or campaign and can not find the specific aircraft in the readme, a handy tool by Morton allows you to change the bird to one that's readily available.

You can use this to change the Hurricane to the one I posted above. A very good converted model by Gavinc and company. RobH uploaded this particular file.

Hope this helps you out, Dave

All of the Redwulf airfields (Munchen-Reim, Ainring, and others) are found in Achim's German bases pack.
Location: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/downloads/download.php?lloc=downloads&FileID=14428

Furthermore, he has done airbases in Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Russia, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Albania, the former Yugoslavia, Austria, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Northern and Southern France, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, Scotland, the Orkneys and Shetlands, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, and Morocco.

His stuff: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.p...oads&FileUploadName=achim27619&pap=1&ammm=100

If you stay for long in the Mediterranean, there are great scenery sets for Spain, the Balearic Islands, Gibraltar, and Malta as well.

Dave, it helps a great deal, thank you. I'm one or two components short of three of Jagdflieger's missions. The search continues. Rami has like 80 missions on the Finnish Front, and I'm starting to gather the parts for Nomonhan.

Hoorah bro.

Thanks Rami, I'm going to be starting gathering your Finnish missions and the parts next. After I tire of destroying Bomber Command and the 8th Air Force at night I suppose I will pick up an interest in the Med theater of operations. I'll grab those files now. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Oldwheat's nightfighter Zero release gelled this for me.

In SECRET WEAPONS OF THE LUFTWAFFE days, I wrote LucasArts, Microprose, Sierra, and Microsoft all the same letter: When are you guys gonna come out with a flight sim of German and Japanese nightfighters against B-29s, Lancasters, B-24s, and the like? How about include Beaufighters and Boulton Paul Defiants against He-111s over London and Italy? ? P-61s, F4U and F6F nightfighters? How about "1946 what ifs" of P-38 M against RITA raids on the Philippines or Pearl Harbor?

I never received the courtesy of a reply from any of them, which typifies American business practices: All money, no courtesy. Ye presumptuous peasants and ye silly suggestions, back to the heath with ye.

Thanks to all of you in the CFS2 community who brew thier own components, I'll make my own damn game, albeit 19 years late. Among my gathering of all the other conflicts revolving around WW2 I'm grabbing every nightfighter I can. I have the searchlight and fire scenery, all the Euro-targets. I'm going to check out the Tokyo Fireraid mission. I hope all you guys who made the JU88 and HE 219 nightfighters wrote a radar algorithm for them and that those spindly little antennas are not just textures. If you didn't, here's someone's chance to.

Sometime in the undetermined future I hope to post to the flightsim sites NACHTJAGER, free of charge as all you guy's sweat and work has been. I need to read up on the nightfighter scene among the Allies, what I don't know about the Japanese, and to a lesser extent, the German side, ain't worth knowing. Just take those old planes off the shelf, I'll sit and shoot them down by myself.

I first read Cajus Becker's LUFTWAFFE WAR DIARIES in the 70s. He described an Me 110C crew where the ground crew mounted 2 20mm MGFFs between the pilot and rear gunner on wooden railroad ties. They named this "Schrage Musik", or "slanting music", the German phrase for Jazz. The nightfighter bug bit me then.

Let's be real: Don't the thought of sneaking under a Halifax in a Ju88G and blowing it's wing to blinding flinders with obliquely mounted cannon give you goosebumps?

Thanks again Rami
