Yep, many of the greatest leading ladies of the 40s, 50s and early 60s would be washouts in today's Hollyweird. Marilyn Manroe, 5 foot 2, size 16. Jane Russel, 5 foot 3, size 18. Betty Grable...don't have her stats, but by today's standards she was a porker. I prefer women with curves, with some meat on their bones. Most of the "super models" and leading actresses are just too thin to look like they are healthy. But, most women in Hollyweird are following the trend to be thin, even if it makes them look like they are dying..and is some cases...it makes them die. Helen Hunt, looked great in Twister and Pay It Forward. Just saw her in a movie last night on Netflix...And Then She Found Me....and Helen looked like she had scurvy, malaria and a life threatening case of diarhea...she was far too thin. Janine Garafalo used to be a hottie, back when she did The Match Maker, The Truth About Cats and Dogs. She bucked the system for a long time in relation to her weight. Then she jumped on board, lost all her curves, died her hair blonde and now looks more like the Crypt Keeper. Cameran Diez looked great in The Mask...she had hips and thighs....but in The Holiday she was a collection of twigs. Angelina Jolie....has always been too thin to make my Hotometer move.
If you want to know what a woman should look like in my book...think back to the Playtex bra ads, the ones with the redhead...the one that talked about muffin tops, and how gravity was no longer her enemy, but brownies were. That is what a woman is supposed to look like. CURVES!
