Connectivity

~S~ Gents....I have a new pilot using Windows 7. His game is up and running, but he can't connect in Multiplayer! I am assuming that it is a matter of opening the correct ports, but I don't know how to do this in his OS. Any and all help would be appreciated...Thanks guys!:salute:

hello minuteman,
sorry for the reply delay.
i wasn't ignoring you, honest.

i have been in contact with your new pilot.
hopefully, we got the job done.
we shall see.

i don't believe the problem is with w7,
but instead, with opening the correct ports
for cfs within his router firewall.
or as they say in the biz,
port forwarding

there is always the dmz option,
but this is not recommended
because it opens all ports
and leaves one's system
wide open to possible attack.

when i know for sure that
the process has worked for taz,
i plan on submitting a thread
explaining the procedure.

i don't know why i haven't done it before.

Thanks smilo!:applause:

Make that thread a sticker if you do it. Actually, a thread entitled "How to get CFS1 up, running, and on line despite Microsoft attempts" would be welcome...:kilroy:

New players are so tough to come-by, loosing some to mere technicalities is a sin (or should be one in my own religion).

Thanks again. And if you ever need beta testers for your Arado, you know how to join me. A bit of lazy flying with you is always a welcome R&R.

hello hubba.
i will agree with you,
but i won't go so far as religion.
let's just say,
i think it's a low down, dirty, rotten shame.

let's hold off on the accolades, though.
at least until we know that it worked.

if and when i write and post the procedure,
i will make it a sticky.
also, i will post it at the aac forum,
the lwdesigns forum and make it available to Dave.
not to mention, i'll stash a copy.

as to your beta offer,
i guess i was being presumptuous,
i thought that was a given.

lazy flying sounds good to me,
although, to be honest,
in the past year or so,
i have only flown in the sim
for a very short time.
heck, i haven't even fired up fs9,
except to look at a196 model.
all of my controllers have been disconnected
and now, i just use a game pad
with the buttons reassigned,
mainly, just for viewing the 196.

as for that beast,
i have been hung up
dealing with minuscule bleeds
at various points in the float strut framework.
_______:sheep:_______

i'm just about to the point
where i'm seriously considering
saving the float file
and starting over
with the frame parts coding.
