Connie @ AVSIM

the only real annoyance i have is the exhaust flames show as blocks. if i turn on the lights then turn them off, they go out for a while but they show up again in a few seconds

As Bill said then you miss the texture in the effects folder.

And they are triggered by the throttle position not by the lights

Drop me a PM with your email adress and I send you the bitmap and the panel cfdg with (more) modern AP(its not like a 737 though)

Godspeed

EC-121? Where?

The Connie development team also did an EC-121 also did an EC-121, but it doesn't have a VC.

Where can their downloads be found? I've tried Googling "The Connie development team", but can't find anything. I've been on AVSIM and haven't found anything either.

Any idea where to go to find this?

Thanks,

Kent

Just noticed it's "only" a YC-121F, but in case you're still interested the file name is yc-121.zip on Avsim.

I reinstalled this Connie following the readme.txt explicitly and the damn thing still drops sound and seconds later freezes the entire computer. Really too bad, from what little time I've had to fly it before things freeze it seems very, very nice.

Hi

Do you use FSX or FS9 config?
Advanced?

How did you install the sounds?the sound folder in the download to the main FSX folder sound?

If all this is OK try

Go to the aircraft.cfg and eliminate (for now) the exhaust flames like below

//light.5 = 7, 13.758, -18.8, -0.38, fx_1649A_exh2_2 // 2
//light.6 = 8, 13.758, 18.5, -0.38,fx_1649A_exh2_3 // 3
//light.7 = 2,11.00, -36.56, 1.280,fx_1649A_exh2_1 //1
//light.8 = 9,11.00, 36.56,1.280,fx_1649A_exh2_4 //4

What is not standard in your Starliner installation?

Best regards

I'm using the simple FSX config.
Sound folder to main FSX sound folder (/squeaking brakes etc is in /fsx/sound/ as it should be)
Nothing not standard, I just followed the readme

I'll try pulling those exhaust flames when I get a chance and see if that helps, though they appear fine (and look great). I'm thinking it's sound related because everytime I've tried it the sound drops out shortly into the flight, then about 2 seconds later the system freezes. Maybe I should review the sound locations yet again.

It's a very nice model. I'm glad that I tried out the normal version first rather than the "advanced!"

1. It took nearly an hour to get the engines started.

2. After takeoff the gear only retracted about 3/4ths of the way

3. After climbing to 11,000' and establishing a cruise configuration of MP 35, 2500 RPM, engines failed in startup sequence: 3, 4, 2, 1 after about twenty minutes...

IMHO, there's too much "management" required. One can be a pilot in command or a flight engineer, it is too much for one person to do both. :typing:

Better stay away from the A2A B-377 then, Bill :)

Actually, after logging over 100 hours in the B-377 all other
aircraft are a bit of a bore to fly now.

Dear Bill

If you fly version 2,1 nothing (almost ) like this will happen to you

But in 2.2 it is for the long range boys not to get bored

1.)I asume you are in FSX.Try to start from FE panel with the key icon and or Ctrl-E
If not then you have one of the rare FSX SP2 's like mine where you have to increase the startertorque(engine section) in aircraft cfg to 1.250
should then fire instantly

2.)Turn on the statuspanel(kneeboard rightklick-->you made a mistake with hydraulic pressure should be green 100%-->if not klick on it-->green--> retract

3.)look to the statuspanel.You abuse the engines-->will turn yellow-->red-->blow up.You have to reduce Map(49) and rpm(2450) after 2 min.at level flight 20.000 you can abuse her longer

I hope this brings back the fun

I hope I can get to the point of being able to get annoyed at engine management. :p
