Convair propliner lost- N153JR

N153JR owned by Jet One Express was lost yesterday along with her pilot and copilot.

The aircraft has been listed on some sites as a CV-340, on others as a CV-440. Her engine exhaust design was definitely CV-440. Either way, it is sad that two lives were lost.

Tragic loss of life..and another classic old convair gone forever. How come Buffalo Joe can operate these old prop liners for years without any major problems, yet when I study the NTSB reports on the safety record for these central and south american opertators are so bad?
