Cosford visit

ian elliot

SOH-CM-2025
Swung by RAF Cosford reserve collection on the way back from camping in Wales. Ive posted a few pics before in the past, but thought i'd concentrate on the Cold War Hanger esp the air-frame's suspended from the ceiling. Also included a shot of their post war Tempest, a very nice restoration although difficult to take a pic

Thanks for these nice pictures Ian. But I'm a bit puzzled why the aircraft attached to the celing are in these, let me put it mildly, odd positions

It is similar in the Dutch National Military Museum. I wonder what was wrong in the past when you could still walk around these aircraft.

Cheers,
Huub

I can understand your feelings Huub, but if you saw the whole building and display, you may have a different perspective, im actually a fan with what the've done with limited space. Ive got quite a collection of shots from exhibits from around Cosford, and many other collection's also but wanted to concentrate on the Cold war hanger, it didnt help that i had about 8% battery power and no charger, and i dont really like the wide angle view on my currant mobile.
The Dutch National Military Museum is defiantly on my to-do list, i'll get there one day :)

There seems to be change's afoot at Cosford, Hanger 4 is closed with the idea of duplicating what was done at Hendon, making it more kid/Family friendly, which is ok i guess but there's some airframe's that have an unsure future, including a fine BOAC DH Comet. Its a bit like Duxford, i'll judge the change's when there done but sometimes i wish they leave thing alone
