• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

CP-140 Aurora

Thank you again for your further comments!
Really appreaciating this!

The only thing I miss is a bit of weathering...
Same goes for me!
But all the photos I was able to grab show the Aurora in this immaculate out-of-the-box appearance. Don't know about the ratio of patrol time vs. maintenance&polishing the crews devoted to their birds (I guess it must have been 1 : 20 or so... :d ).

Maybe the ocean spray these birds flew in had a strange cleaning and coating effect? :icon_lol:

One other reason might have been that the CF Auroras didn't seem to carry this scheme for too many years until they were painted in the later boring and dull grey scheme...

But all in all, there's not too many places around the fuselage, wings and nacelles where dirt and stains make much sense, except the already mentioned APU exhaust area where subtle exaust marks were added and an area on the upper engine nacelle which seemed like an air outlet to me.

Regards,
Markus.
