Credit card hacked

I have the same problem too. In fact, can we discuss which FS shop we have shopped recently?

I have no intention to bad mouth any shop, just to warn others and those shops as well.

PS. I have bought from 2 shops in December and found my credit card was misused in January. Someone used my credit card details to register a new Paypal account to steal.

Pay Pal!
They saved my bacon once!
After making a purchase from a vendor who sold his wares at a Yahoo account type store tried to charge us for purchases we did not make.
They act fast when they see a problem...And they even helped us get the guy shut down!
Excellent security!

I second that request. If they can't take care of their security, everyone here should know about it. Keeping it secret or letting them get away unidentified only helps the thieves.

I ONLY use my credit card online when purchasing from Amazon. And that's just because PayPal is eBay's.

I also think it would be good for everyone if they know there are FS sites which need too be treated with a little caution, and which ones they may be. It's called looking after your own mates.

Regards,
Ian

My last four purchases were Super Cub, BirdDog, Safir, and Lysander. These are great addons and I will purchase from all of them again. But I will use PayPal only.
I am posting this for everyone's information only, not to accuse or point fingers at anyone.

I'm on a biz trip and have no access to my records, but I remember that my unauthorized CC entries started some time early in December and before I bought the Flight Replica Supercub with the same card.

I had download some FTX airports in December using my credit card. I also own the Safir but it was bought a year ago.

But for Flight Replica, I haven't bought anything from them.

It's good to share information, but do keep this in mind: the date of the fraud and the source of the stolen credit card info might be separated by months or even years. What do I mean? Let's say you bought something two years ago. It hasn't expired and you're still using the same credit card now. Now imagine that, two weeks ago, this two-years-ago company either has inside fraud or stores your information insecurely (e.g., on a laptop that gets left at the airport or in a coffee shop). Your card info is used for fraud now, but it has nothing to do with your recent purchases.

I'm not saying this is what did happen; only that it does happen.

David has a very valid point - the time my card was lifted off a card sales slip in a shop (we believe a petrol station (gas station to the Americans...)), it was well over a year before it was used to try and buy something.

The "professional" gangs doing this harvest thousands of numbers from various sources. It's totally hit and miss as to whether its your card that gets picked and when.

I've had trouble with PayPal. Having investigated and had dealings with their less public side, my advice is that they're crooked as hell, utterly uncontrolled, unregulated, untrustworthy and avoid unless absolutely necessary.

Others disagree!
I agree!
