Okay,

Need some help here.

I can build missions using aircraft and ships, but cannot place infrastructure into the scenery.

Each time I hit the infrastructure button, I CTD.

Solution?????:isadizzy:

Devildog73,

Yeah, I have a couple of ideas here...

1) There is the possibility that the filelist.dat files for the scenedb\veh and scenedb\inf folders have become corrupted, you can try deleting those and letting them regenerate.

2) You can also try replacing the mplanner.dll module, she is the goddess in charge of all things Mission Builder. You can replace her with one from a clean install, or take it directly off the install disk.

I always delete the filelist.dat in all installs all of the time when working in MB, or installing new scenery, so that is not it.

I will pull the dll off the CD and reinstall it and see.

I've had the same problem Devildog. There seems to be a limit to how many objects you have in your OBJECTS_DP folder.

It's a nuisance, but I have a separate installation just for MB. I copy aircraft and ships into it as required and have a whittled down OBJECTS_DP folder.

Yeah,
I tried to follow Rami's advice, no joy.

I will do a fresh install of CFS2 and limit my objects_dp and see if that helps. The only thing is, what to NOT include........

That sorta depends on what theater you're working with. If you're in the PTO, you don't need Mediterranean or Euro scenery... That also means German vehicles and Euro trees are Verboten, so eliminate them too. As I discovered this Summer, "commenting out" DP entries in the Descript.dat and MDLNames.txt with semi-colons won't do it - you have to DELETE the entry entirely. Each theater is unique, and there's a lot of basic scenery that can be removed to save space. SC

I have deleted many objects out of the install. Still CTD on infrastructure or vehicle buttons.

My next idea is to fire up CFS2 in admin mode and see what CDPs are created in Objects_DP. I will then delete any that do not have a CDP file as not being necesssary for any missions/campaigns/scenery calls.

Standby.......
