That's not what i was asking Alpha. Since the sim was reporting an error in loading the model, not a screen background, i wanted to know if the allegience in the dp's of the models matched the country.cfg. Not having a proper match can cause this. This is one of the primary causes of camp CTD's. And the dp allegiences of the defo campaign Tiffie DOES NOT match RCAF's country.cfg, and therefore doesn't match the allegience=7 in all the camp mission files either, even if the mis files match the cfg. You'll have to make some manual edits.
 
Another other big campaign error source is when a model folder name doesn't match the model name in the mission files. You'll get a "failure to initialize" message here also.
 
Bear.....it wasn't reporting an error in loading the model, it was reporting this........'An error occurred while loading the campaign file K:\Program Files\cfs2_Europe_other\Campaigns\Royal Canadian Air Force'.

This very well may be because there is no campaign screen available. Dirtman, Here's the Canadian portion of the country.cfg file for the setup......This matches the country number for the campaign.

OOOOkay Alpha...i'meant the text of the error log, not the pop up error message.

So, let's settle this screen background biz for good here. First, in order for a missing custom screen background to cause a camp CTD, it must be called up in the cmg file. As you can see below in my copy of the original Tiffie Camp cmg, there is no image file call:

All you need, per your last post above, is the Canadian nationality bmp, which is named "scr_nationality_cdn.bmp". When you go to select a campaign nationality and you choose Canadian, this is the next thing that appears onscreen. Is it in your UIRES folder? If so, then there's no missing screen involved here.

As for the "way over your head" biz, this whole thing is just a learning exercise at worst, so let's see how simple it is. Open your Tiffie dp file with notepad -- just like you've done with the mis files already -- and scroll down to the [MISC] section where you will find the allegience of the model. Is it 7 or not? If it's anything other than 7 -- which is what the cmg, mis files and the country.cfg require -- then this is the root of your problem which prevents the model from loading... yeah... that simple.

You may not realize this, but there a few of us old hands around here who've done some missions and camps quietly for private consumption. Just because we don't upload 'em doesn't make us any less knowledgeable than the big names.;)

Thanks Guys! I'll look into this for sure, though I know that Rami's gonna fix this for everybody. It's good to learn this stuff for future reference. I have a hankerin' to do a Canadian campaign somewhere down the line, and I'll need to know all that you're teaching me here.

I'll get back to you later today.......chores to do, etc. for now. Thanks for all your input and patience so far......I really do want to get the hang of this.

The Canadian screens are at Simviation and I believe the category is 'other' or some such the same.

I took a look at the Canada package and it supports only missions, not campaigns.

This is from the readme file:

"The package does not provide screens and other supporting bitmaps for a full Canadian campaign."

Perhaps this is part of the problem as well as the Country Number issue. These files use Canada as Country Number 8. My country files use Japanese Army as the selecton for Country Number 8. This might be an issue to clear up for the CTDs if your country file is the same as mine, the MS authorized (Amedeo-DOA) country file.

This is why I instructed to use one of the "empty" spaces in the country.cfg, specifically...

The “add to country.cfg” contains an optional entry for Canada. Just cut ‘n’ paste the entry from the “add to country.cfg” into the country.cfg file in your CFS2 root folder, replacing this:

Yup, I know and the missions fly perfectly.....even after I've changed the allegiance to 18. I never get a CTD with this campaign....it's just that it can't load and I have to cancel it.......it's the Mosquito Squadron one that CTD's right after I hit 'fly now' which indicates to me that there's an airfield problem, however, I've used Rami's Master Airbase file for the ETO and would've thought this would correct everything........no joy there.....still get the CTD. I've thought of using the Dynamic Campaign runway checker but don't know if this is a good idea or not. I have each of these campaigns on separate installs, by the way.

Yes, there is a workaround.

Copy one of the other loading screens to your desktop and rename it with the Canadian abreviation needed for the loading screen.

Should be something along the lines of "scr_nationality_jpn" or something similar. I think Canadian is CND, but not sure.
I have had to do this in the past for a nationality or two.

Jagd & Rami are correct. This screenpack does not support flying in campaign mode as it is missing key campaign screens like: select campaign, select pilot, promotion, commendation etc...

Also many uires are missing such as "medals" which were in another long-lost upload. (as these packs were made in 2001)

I was under the impression that AJAX was working on a complete screenpack. (last year?)

I will speak with Rami and perhaps upload a complete interim screenpack for now; to help all of you out.

Canadian ETO Screenpack

There is no complete Canadian Nationality screenpack available. Just a partial one made by RCAF_Woody way back in 2001. (that only supports missions) There was also a partial pack that contained the images for RCAF Medals & Rank insignia; but it is very difficult to find and may no longer be available.

OK ... so I was just going to cobble together enough screens to make a Canadian ETO screenpack that supports campaigns (like Rami's: RCAF Typhoon rebuild) from the pack I have been using (but I did these screens 4 years ago as a complete novice and many really suck) and upload it.

Then I realized that I haven't uploaded a damn thing in 2 freakin' years - because I've been concentrating on bloody Vietnam_4_CFS2 ....

Then I got to thinking that maybe I should just make a whole new package and be done with it.
Something nice & simple that isn't hard to look at like those butt-ugly cartoons!

..... it should be ready to upload in a week or two.
