I am in UK so not sure is this is a global issue but I am not currently able to log into the game.

Found this posted -

"The official Microsoft Flight Simulator forums put up an announcement today (September 2, 1:26 PM UTC) titled "XBOX Sign-In 0x80004005 Error Code," acknowledging that players can't sign in and launch either MSFS 2024 or MSFS 2020 on PC. It's tied to a broader Xbox Live sign-in outage that started around 1pm BST today, affecting console, PC and mobile — Microsoft has confirmed they're aware and investigating, but hasn't given a fix or ETA yet, just pointed people to the Xbox Live status page for updates."
 
I had same issue with steam. Thought I had some bug on my rig, deleted cached and rebooted, no joy. Eventually steam gave me a load in safe mode and the packages started to load. After a short trial flight, I did a proper exit then tried to reload FS24 and it worked just fine.
