The library is handled by our librarians so I just had a quick look. And unless it is easy for me to solve I don't interfere with their work.

Regards,
Huub

I'm a bit distracted by real life just now, when I get a chance I'll download the parts and see what I can do. Apologies for the delay.
The fix file should be available now.

It's not one I've ever had, so can't help with the installer.

Andrew sent me this file and asked to try it out. Itr worked for me. Just put the contents into the first P51 folder and let us know. Thanks.

It's in the fs2004 military prop area and has my smiling face as the picture.

I'm afraid the fix didn't work for me. The problem persists. I do have the gauges in the models in the CWDT_P-51d folder, but not in the models in the other two folders....

Hopefully I will find some time somewhere tomorrow to do some additional experimenting and have a close look to what is in the panel configuration file.

Cheers,
Huub

All sorted now.
Just a recap..
Original:
P-51D 2D panel working, No VC
P-51DBR & P-51DFT 2D & VC working (both panels aliased to P-51D)

Now for the weird thing - Replaced P-51D with the new P-51D FIX
P-51D 2D & VC working
P-51DBR & P-51DFT 2D panel working, No VC (both panels aliased to P-51D)

My solution:
Use the P-51D FIX - that sorts the P-51D out.!
As I still had a copy of P-51D original (as above), I copied it's panel & pasted it into P-51DFT
Then I aliased the P-51DBR's panel to P-51DFT's panel.

All works now!
Phew! I hope that all makes sense!

Here is a list of the contents of the P-51D Panel folder - it's identical to the Panel in the P-51DFT folder.

Huub, the only thing I can suggest is to duplicate the Panel with the gauges to all the P-51's. Hopefully, no idea why, it should work!

The gauges must be in the Panel folder, not the Model folder.. (I'm sure you did mean the Panel folder)
You said 'I'm afraid the fix didn't work for me. The problem persists. I do have the gauges in the models in the CWDT_P-51d folder, but not in the models in the other two folders....'

Just got this from Andrew.

Jerry,

You can duplicate the panel folder and put it in the other two aircraft.

You can also use alias like this BF-109:

[fltsim]
alias=AW BF-109G6\panel

He's talking about the P51D and used the BF109 as an EXAMPLE. Hope this solves the problem.

IT DOESN'T. I COPIED THE TWO PANEL FILES IN CWDT_P51d to the other two folders and no dice. It doesn't make sense. There was another folder in the P51d first folder with a list of gauges that I also put into the second and third folders that didn't do anything. This is extremely strange. I'm still hoping to get ahold of Phanis and see if he has the original installer for this plane.

TWO PANEL FILES IN CWDT_P51d???
There should be ONLY 1 Panel folder in CWDT_P51d!!
That Panel folder should contain the gauges as per the picture I previously posted. - That works for me & sorts out the CWDT_P51d
Copy & paste that panel from the P-51d to the CWDT_P-51DFT
(So CWDT_P51DFT folder has the same Panel folder as that of the CWDT_P51D)

CWDT_P51DBR has a Panel folder that contains ONLY a panel.cfg - Nothing else
That is a text file that aliases to the P-51DTF's panel.
It says:

The original panel.cfg in the CWDT_P-51DBR said:
[fltsim]
alias=cwdt_p-51d\panel

Edit it to look like..

[fltsim]
alias=cwdt_p-51dft\panel

The above works for me.

It's very odd that what works for me does not work for others.. (yet another mystery of computer

That's a copy of my Panel, with all the gauges. Just unzip it & paste it into P-51d
If it works there, just copy & paste the whole folder into the other 2 aircraft folders.

Just got this from Andrew.

Don't waste any more time on this. I got ahold of phanis and he has the original cwdt installer and password and will send me this weekend. Then i can upload once and this thing should all work.

Half the fun is to get it to work! It's really not wasting time, more like a fun way to learn more about FS2004, & how things work.

It is good to hear Phanis is still around! Hopefully he is still making music :encouragement:

I got the single installer and it's uploaded. This resolved all the mentioned issues when I tried it. Remove all current folders for this plane before using the installer. Thank Phanis for having all these CWDT installers/

I'm trying to download the single P-51D file.
I see it listed in warbird's Resources list, in his profile. When I click the Download button there, a picture of the P-51 pops up on my screen, with no download.

I cannot see the new single file in the library (Military Props) as yet.

Greetings... I've managed to get the VCs all working in all 3 folders- here's what it took:
Originally, trying to fly planes in the first folder (CWDT_P51d) would crash the sim. In addition, the gauges in the VCs of the other two folders didn't show up. First, I replaced the panel folder in CWDT_P51d with one from the CWDT_P51d_(Fix) folder (I haven't figured out the difference yet). But you still can't alias the other two folders (CWDT_P51DBR, CWDT_P51DFT) to it. The reason is that the .mdl files in CWDT_P51d uses different panel textures- $P51D-L, -R, -M, etc., while all the models in the other folders use $_mainpanel. The Panel folder needed for them, as it turned out, was the one in the CWDT_P51d folder... I just looked for a panel folder whose panel.cfg text called for $_mainpanel in the sections for the virtual cockpit. I didn't bother aliasing CWDT_P51DBR to CWDT_P51DFT, but I suppose I could have...

These are very nice aircraft! I didn't mind poking around under the hood to figure things out- I actually had fun doing it.

Thanks to Warbirdlover, Acwai, and the rest for sharing all their aircraft with us... nice job!

The single installer inside the zip works. I've tried it before uploading. This must be info on the multiple download that gave the problems, correct?

Hi all,
Thats what I did in Post # 27.
She flies beautifully.
Thanks, from me as well, for sharing these great CWDT aircraft with us. After 21 years, FS2004 is really improving with age.
