CWHM - Repaints requested

vipgroup

SOH-CM-2024
Greetings all.

I recently re-visited the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (Near Hamilton, Ontario), for the first time in two decades. It was great to be there again. I now find myself wishing to fly some of the specific aircraft in FS2020 again, but there are some repaints apparently missing or hard to find. Three come to mind.

1) Chipmunk "035" (for the Aeroplane Heaven model)
2) Beech 18 "BAE" (for the Carenado model)
3) Stearman model 75 "FK107" (for the soon-to-be gone GAS 75 model, not the Super Stearman variant)

Anyone able to point to these repaints, or take them on as projects?

- Kenneth

I've been making CWHM repaints since FS9. I live about a 15min drive from the museum and been going there, since I was 5 with my dad, now taking my son. You can find my liveries for MSFS on Flightsim.to under DeltaSierra. Currently the C-47, Tigermoth, and Harvard Museum liveries are there. I have some original 424 Sqn. Mustang liveries from the 50's, and I'm (still) holding breath ( almost to the point of passing out) for the AH Lancaster, just so I can make a VeRA livery. Maybe one day we'll get a B-25 in MSFS so I can do the museum's 'Hot Gen'.

Hi,

For the Stearman Model 75 FK107, I can do something: check your MP on SOH

@+ Didier
Received. Thank you so much. I have now flown it, and it looks great. I am sorry the model will not be available soon. I had hoped to see more Golden Age aircraft resurrected in the future.

May not be what you're looking for, but I've been making CWHM repaints since FS9. I live about 15min drive from the museum and have been going there since I could walk, now 61. Been a member and a volunteer, even maintained the FS9 simulators for them, making several repaints of their collection over the years for FS9, X, MSFS. You can find my work for MSFS on Flightsim.to under DeltaSierra. I have some original 424 Sqn. liveries, and I've been anticipating the AH Lancaster just so I can make VeRA. Maybe one day we'll get a B-25 in MSFS so I can do some RCAF liveries and the museum's Hot Gen.
Greetings.

I enjoyed your post, thank you for sharing. AND I enjoy your work as well. We have corresponded before. I can go back a wee bit before FS9 with CWHM. My company (VIP Group) made the first ever Lancaster for FS back in the mid 1990's. I got access to the aircraft. and still recall the thrill of sitting in the cockpit. I was promised a flight in her, but sadly that never materialized. I later flew in a B-17 and that was a sort-of a substitute! I also recall a good friend and myself meeting with the directors of the museum to pitch them for the first ever flight simulator they would have had. That's a long time ago. It was so good to be back in Ontario last month for the first time since moving to Saskatchewan in 2007. I have missed the province, and missed the ability to nip down to the museum regularly.

All the best

Love it / awesome - peticulary the 'bend' metal reflections
I'd make the grey around the fuse a tad darker and more dull/ less shiny in contrast to the rest greenish colour (that you put spot on in my eyes)

first test fligfht, if you see any glaring errors, please let me know?

Looks great! I did notice a few minor differences between yours and the one in the museum. In the museum pics above, there is a red band on either side of the nose, the wing rondels have the red centers, and there appears to be a black "148" on tip of the nose.

Thanks Jankees.

I similarly noticed the red missing in the roundels, and I think the "BAE" might be a little too high. The top of the roundels are a bit higher than the top of the letters in reality. Also, the C-GZCE registration should be on the tail fins. Here is a good reference picture.
This is going to be a much-appreciated addition to the fleet.
