Damaged Aircraft

The crashed F4F4 I posted is a ground object .bgl. I imported 3 LODs from stock F4F4 into gMax edited them. Than exported as FS2002 .bgl and with my CFS2_Exploting_Objs_Using_FS2002 set up I converted it to a CFS2 object .bgl

It is downloading as an attachment document not as an object that I can load into CFS2. This is what I am getting.

You need to download the .zip and extract it. Once extracted you will find all of the file and folders.

Okay there is an error with in the forum software. I came out to my Win 7 that is using IE 11 and now I'm getting the error bobhegf is. All attached .zip files are being saved as attachment.php

bobhegf what you need to do in the mean time is download the attachment.php and change the name to attachment.zip and it will work.

It happens on my wife's lapto with win 7. On my win XP it works fine.

How did you do the LODs? I'm still not getting it. :banghead:

Also how did you do the textures. or should I say how did you split the textures?

These are great Allen. Just like Wolfi's shipwreaks. I added them to a test mission and they look perfect. A question....are they destroy-able objects.

I did my LOD by Part name_LOD### and by Dummy that set LOD as I was being quick and dirty. The gmax models for both are in the zips. As for splitting the texture. I cut the model in half down the middle by use of a Boolean operation (really deleted half of the fuselage from nose to tail than made a clone and mirrored it back onto the other side).

The last 2 I attached are destroy-able objects.

Worthless,

I don't think they are but maybe we can fix that. - nevermind seen Allen's post

In the story of the Cactua Airforce there is an example of a P-39 that was left in place and used as a decoy. It seems that on many occasions the Japanese straifed it. So it was left in place.

How did you compile the LODs. I saw the Dummy box (Hey thats describing me at the moment). you said that you used some from the stock model.

The stock models don't have any dummy boxes. They are done by part name. LOD have to be done by part name or linking parts to a dummy that has LOD_### in the name.

part named Cylinder_LOD_100
gMax Part Name.jpg

or How to link a part to a dummy

gMax part linking 2.jpg

Both of the attached F4F4s use both ways to make LODs.

I changed it and it still doesn't work.:banghead:

PM Rami as it a forum bug that needs to be fixed.
