Danica and Stenhouse Jr. are dating: #10-Danica Patrick revealed to The Associated Press she and #17-Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are a couple, ending widespread speculation about the nature of their relationship. "I have a boyfriend, his name is Richard," she said during an exclusive telephone interview with AP. The couple waited until the end of Charlotte Motor Speedway's weeklong annual media tour to go public with their relationship, which started as a friendship as they raced each other the last two seasons in the Nationwide Series. Stenhouse became a mentor of sorts to the 30-year-old Patrick, who left IndyCar after the 2011 season to make the full-time switch to NASCAR. Stenhouse, 25, confirmed the relationship. "Yes we are dating," he said. "I don't normally say too much about my private life, always been focused on the track. I didn't want to confirm at media day so that we could keep the focus on the season, the Gen-6 (car), my sponsors and team. That's what it's all about for me." Patrick announced in November she and husband Paul Hospenthal were divorcing after seven years, and said in the Jan. 3 filing that her marriage to the 47-year-old Hospenthal was "irretrievably broken."(full story at the Associated Press)(1-25-2013)

id seen them together alot at the tracks ( on tv ofcourse),they were allways talking about something, and often the camera would find them alone and standing close to one another..so Bayne is enaged, and ricky has a girlfriend....so the "awesome twosome" are now a foursome......i wonder if Trevors wife to be drives race cars too?...she should...

I remember a couple of pre-race interviews in the Nationwide series last year where she mentioned "her buddy" Ricky Stenhouse, so I guess this has been a "WIP" for some time. Just wait until she wrecks him, or he her. It will be a long ride home in the Rouch Air Lines 737, hehe.

I'm waiting to see if Ricky is smart enough to eventually get his hands on half that loot she has stashed away.:cost1:

that is pretty funny...and Kyle pettys reaction on speed yesterday during the speed coverage of media day was pretty funny too...i cant repeate it word for word...but he was beside himself about how those "idiots" could be so focused on danica and rickys love life instead of racing...he was very animated about it...

Kyle Petty is a racer, and he seems to have a particular level of contempt for the way the media has focused on Danica for reasons that have nothing to do with racing. In this I agree with him, but he appears to be taking out his frustration with this media behavior on Danica, which seems unbecoming, at least.

Danica's and Ricky's personal lives off the track is really nobody's business but there own. What I think will be more important is what happens on the track and what happens if they wreck each other on the track. Danica seems to have a pretty serious temper and if they wreck, Ricky might want to hide the kitchen knives. :icon_eek:

Frankly the author of this piece appears to be a Dickhead, nothing more, nothing less.
Of course, private lives should remain private, unfortunately when one creates a highly publicised personal profile as part of a campaign to build a sponsorship and fan base, 'Privacy' goes away.
As mentioned elsewhere, the focus of the NASCAR pre-season should be on the cars, drivers and the season ahead, but as is the case in all areas of Public Life the 'Cult of Personality' rules.
One can't legislate against stupidity.

in all seriousness

every carnival, there has to be a sideshow, this season ,or atleast for now ,its Danica and Ricky, they tried to make it be a "rivalry" between Jeff Gordon and Clint Boyer, but i agree with Kyle Petty once again..that situation is not a rivalry, maybe a grudge,at the most,Clint seems to be the one whos mad,but he really started it by running all over Gordon to start with, true Grodon may have been in his way...but thats still no reason to use a guy for a cushion,

my point is,though i agree it should be about racing, and it really is for those of us who are fans, this little love affair between Danica and Ricky (might) bring in some female or "other" fans who want to see how the "lovers" will interact on the race track..
