...And we're not talking Alcoholics Anonymous here, this AA is the British Automobile Association! Great repaint from Adrian Petford, up at Flightsim.com:

I was just checking in for my daily browse of the forum and nearly did a double take when I saw this thread. Thanks for your very nice comments, Roger!

She's my very first aircraft repaint and is also up at AVSIM and OZx.

Great screenshots, enjoy flying her!

Thanks again,

Ade

Hi Ade,
Glad you found this thread. It's unusual repaints like this that make aircraft come alive and the quality of your work as a First Repaint is excellent!
If you decide to do any more repaints please let us know. I'd love to see the old Rothmans scheme...but no pressure, lol.

Cheers,

Roger.

Heh heh. Thanks again Roger. I tried to be as meticulous as possible when recreating the livery and only worked from photographs of the real aircraft, not the many models or artwork she has inspired over the years. You'd be surprised how many of those recreations have inaccuracies. Colours were sampled from the single colour shot of G-AHKV I had and the AA car badge on the nose is a real one from 1957. I'm very pleased you think the effort shows!

Yes, I have lots more Rapides to come. I'm having a short break as this one was a long process to complete, five weeks on and off, then it's back to the paint shed. The next one will be ZK-ACO, the New Zealand entrant to the MacRobertson Air Race. I'm a big fan of the Rothmans scheme too so that's definitely on the list. In fact it would be great to do G-AGTM in that livery as I've flown in her in real life.

I'm relatively new to the forum, but I browse daily and will be sure to keep you posted now I know people are interested.

Cheers,

Ade
