David Copley's updated P-38 models uploaded

Thanks Captain Kurt. A great looking aircraft and very useful in many theatres.

Three interesting F-4s, the top two doing valuable work with 75 Sqn over Northern New Guinea, Goodenough Island and New Britain. The bottom aircraft was probably based at Coomalie Creek in the Northern Territory.

Capt. Thank you for your work on these. I am wondering though, why am I not seeing the RPM gauges in the VC? Am I missing something?

Kurt,

There's nothing new in the library, unless you just updated the packages. :dizzy: Are you sure you don't mean these? You uploaded them on March 11th, 2019.

I moved them back to the front of the library just to be sure.

Hi Rami,

They're there at the original upload locations. :encouragement:

Note the changed titles with UPDATED and the ID saying they are DCC updated models. I removed the original zip files and replaced them with the updated file zips. No point in having duplicates, one old and one new.

David has added missing turbo scoops to the F5E, P-38L and M, and updated the P-38J to the detail standard of the L model.

Most of the old P-38J bitmaps don't work with the new model, but fortunately they are the detail bitmaps and the main aircraft scheme still works. Swap the bitmaps, new for the old but keep the main camouflage bitmap 'p-38_t.bmp' and you're good for keeping all the previous skins for this model.

P-38J Porky II

CK the VC gauges don't show for me. I'm assuming these are the xp38nmod guages. I loaded all the guages including xp38nmod but they are a no show. This is particularly strange as I have a previous version of Copley's J loaded in one of my other installs and the vc guages show up there just fine. Another curiosity is that when I switch from the vc view to the spot plane view and focus on the cockpit from outside of the aircraft the very same guages that don't appear from the vc cockpit view are now visible. Don't suppose you know of a simple fix?

Worthless,

Copy this entire text and paste/overwrite the entire VC sections in your "J" model's panel.cfg:

Just Curious!

CK,

The file labeled effects (found in each aircraft folder) isn't mentioned in your "CFS2 Conversion readme", and I've never seen some of these effects in CFS2. Can I assume they apply only in FS2004 and have no application in CFS2?

Yep, I promised David I would keep his files together and so I have, even though I don't think these effects are likely to work in CFS2. But who knows, I haven't experimented with them.
