Davy Crockett's Actor, Fess Parker, dies at 85

So long Fess Parker. R.I.P.

We never missed an episode of Davey Crockett or Daniel Boone, that I can remember, on Sunday nights on Walt Disney. And I remember watching almost all of them on the ol black and white tv too. Man that was a long time ago.

I loved him too. May he rest in peace.

Short Fess Parker story. I once when to a play with my wife. The tall man in front of her was making it impossible for her to see. She kept complaining to me. So, i switched seats with her.

When intermission came, guess who was the tall man in front of her...you guess it..Fess Parker. She was ecstatic after that.

Shoot. We're losing a lot of good old TV actors this week.
Seems like Fess did some episodes of "Death Valley Days" too.
Thank you for the coonskin cap memories, Mr. Parker. :salute:

God speed! :engel016:

Fess Parker participated in a lot of the annual Davy Crockett Days pageants just up the road from in Rutherford which was the real Crockett's last home in Tennessee before he went to Texas. He'll be missed around here.

Awwww...man...RIP Fess...You left this world a much better place with all your memories..

Man! Peter Graves and now Fess Parker!

Two of the old school actors. Just did their jobs well and left it at that.

Hey All,

RIP Fess Parker! I'll miss you. The very first 45 I ever won from a radio station was the Ballad of Davey Crockett sung by Fess Parker. I won it from KRBN Red Lodge Montana circa 1962 or 3 or so. Love that record and who can ever forget:

Daniel Boone was a man
Just a big man
with an eye like an eagle
and as tall as mountain was he...

Is Mingo still alive or Rebecca?
