With what will hopefully be the final beta on final, it's time for a few screenshots! I'm not going to give a full list of features, though you might see something new in the screenshots... :engel016:

The DC-2 after which the virtual aircraft was modelled, the ' Uiver' replica that resides in the Aviodrome museum in Lelystad:

The old version is still one of the very few ports I still fly regularly.

That VC just looks stunning. :ernae:

I so look forward to this release. Thanks for the tease. :applause:

cheers,
steve :wavey:

Beautiful pictures, Ferry! :applause:

Here are a few more pictures of the 'old' model which will be the base for most of the liveries :)

Already done, Jankees! ;)

Eight liveries ready so far, thanks to Tim! :applause:

KLM Neutrality orange, Aviodrome (With Goodyear stickers), Uiver (Without), Johnson air service, Braniff, TWA, RAAF and CLS. Don't know yet which will be in the basepack though.

Also two different models; a version as she currently resides in Lelystad, and a more classic model with the old radios, less antennae and the early model's smaller tail.

very nice!
I can only hope we'll also get a paint without the goodyear logo?

We had 40 liveries for the FS9 version, and we will have more for the FSX version. This includes the "old" UIVER too ;-)

What Ferror doesn't know, it that we have a third model, with the bigger tail, but for the rest the old VC and pax door. Also with old style antenna's.:d

Thanks for you nice replies, I can only say s**n now:kilroy:

Could i get a better view ponit of the VC in the 1st set last pic please. That VC almost looks like on of the pits in Buffalo's DC-3's up here. You have my attention and also two Buffalo DC-3 pilots watching who also sim in FSX and love these old girls.

A Good Read

For us DC-2/3 lovers there is a great book out there you need to read

Title:"North Star over my Shoulder"
Author: Robert (Bob) Buck

Bob takes you through his aviation career from when he was 16 and flew across the country using road maps and train tracks as guidance ,in a bi-plane....
He climbed into an aircraft and met Charles Lindberg..

Bob started his Airline Pilot career on the DC-2 across country.

Then to the DC-3 and the Connie across the pond
Ended up on 747's...

He takes you with him into the cockpit with wonderful, true stories..
Bob passed away several years ago..His son continues to fly for the airlines

Wonderful book ,you will all enjoy it!
Rick

Awesome stuff, I cannot wait and of course if you guys are going to release those livery packs I will be more than happy, honoured even to host them for you :)

Carefull guys, very stupid question incomiing:
What is the difference between a DC-2 and a DC-3 ? :monkies:
Sorry my knowledge is quite limited and until now I knew only about the DC-3. This DC-2 looks so similar. Is the DC-3 simply an evolution of the DC-2 ? (like, more powerfull, or anything else ?)
