Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Posted there already before seeing this thread. It’s a no brainer. It’s a firm yes for me. I’m confident @expat and few others agree.

Some images of the new big spinner models etc. Nice to see my old friends... :)

Absolutely a thrill to have these classics back!!!! Never thought it might happen. We are all deeply indebted to Tom.

Got the new model installed - looks as good as ever.

Great shots Eric!

Is the plane in your first screenshot missing the nose wheel hub texture?

What a treat this has been. As per expat, we’re indeed indebted - Thanks Tom!

Thanks.

The top picture is an early Western Airlines scheme @1952 that was done by Frank Gonzalez.
This particular model is an early no radar version.

Heres an image of an actual DC-6 with this style nose wheel.

Thanks for clarifying-I should have double-checked, since wheel casting designs often evolved a lot even within a given type, during this period, especially with nose wheels from fighters both from Douglas and Vought. I’m assuming a similar situation here.

Thanks.
