DC Designs F-15C/E/I Eagle Package Available

Hi Dean

any chance you'd consider a C model with conformal fuel tanks for a future update?... and oddity of Iceland based single seaters I believe.

Matt

Far too many requests to fullfil them all I'm afraid - as it's such a rarity I probably won't be adding that particular type.

Converting to Xplane? Outstanding! There is a need for quality modern fighters in xp. Can hardly wait. Hope you do the FA-18 also but it appears your time may be maxed out.

X-Plane 11 already has a Super Hornet, hence why I haven't converted that package. There is no decent F-15 Eagle though, so the market's good for that version.

PBR will follow on both types for Prepar3D v4 and 5 - I'm just waiting for Lockheed Martin to sort out the lighting on v5 before proceeding. The PBR version of the F-15 will then be converted to X-Plane.

A little help with the sight of the afterburner
Another observation is that the intake manifold is not horizontal during flight

Don’t get angry at me, but this is my favorite model! :medals:

Regards,
Zsolt

Afterburners will look different in almost every image of them, as natural lighting changes the appearance. As mentioned, the intakes move dynamically with airspeed and angle of attack as per the real airplane :)

The CFTs were also tested with the LA ANG at NAS New Orleans. Zsolt, the Sniper is just drag unless it's incorporated into the FLIR system on P3D, which is doable, but probably not worth the effort to find the stealth bad guys. Great sound @5:57 in the "ZZ" vid of the exhausts nozzles.

Just for you - quick pic of the Super Hornet's new afterburner flames. I hope to have the update out within a few weeks, just a case of fitting things in. Also to be added are covers and chocks, as per the F-15 Eagles.....

Thanks for the heads-up! Very much appreciated!

Tommy

Re the update... Seems to be a problem with the C model in FSX.... the model cfg does not correctly reference the interior mdl. Causes FSX to crash when I load this version.

Zsolt was saying this on Facebook - I'm at a loss as to how this has slipped in as the testers were using the same airplane yesterday and had no problems with it.

Just Flight have been notified, so they'll update in a flash no doubt. Sorry for any troubles, as I say, I don't know how the error got in there. 64-bit version is fine, for P3D.

I can confirm this. No problem in the 64 bit version. Works a charm! Thanks for the -D model!!

All fixed folks, downloads should all be fine now.

Future updates will be for Prepar3D only ( PBR ) with the exception of some new weapons and their configurator, which will be for all versions and include other ordnance such as AGM-65 Mavericks, AIM-7 Sparrows and so on. Watch this space :wavey:

I use Win7 64bit and FSX ACC
It doesn't depend on 64bits
The previous version was perfect
Darn gremlins. :banghead: Somehow the model.cfg for the "C" model reverted to an earlier copy.

The 64-bit is for P3D, whereas the problem is with the 32.bit install for FSX. Easy fix.

Go to your model.C, and look at the model.cfg. The scripting for the interior needs to reference the correct mdl file and read: interior=F15C_Cockpit_FSX.

Or you can wait for the next installer from JF.

Dean has been providing excellent service and responses, and this is still a learning curve for him (and his testers, ahem). :adoration:

Hello!

I just got the Eagle pack myself and thank you for making this package with more or less the entire Eagle family!

I have one question reading the HSI gauge: The HSI gauge Compass needle starts to move when you roll the Aircraft, without actually turning the aircraft. Should not the actual Compass heading for a modern gyro compass be the same as the aircraft heading? It seems to work like a wiskey compass.

Simmarket has still not updated the 32bit package regarding the error in the C model.cfg file names.
