Gotta have; Mass. Natl. Guard 104th Fighter Sqn. Can we get it?

I'm getting about 3 - 5 requests per day for various squadrons and of course simply can't do them all. However, the Eagles will come with a paint kit so I'm certain that repainting fans will start producing textures soon after launch in the same way that they have for the Super Hornets, which already have dozens of repaints available.

Finito! :encouragement:

Modeling complete, manual written, coding and testing finished. Final compile will be completed over the weekend once it's confirmed there are no more bugs to fix, and then the Eagles will be released according to Just Flight's schedule. I'll post here once they're available.

Looks nice, Dean.

Does the E/F/G Hornet use the same or similar AB/reheat effect you're showing here for the F-15? I like the look of this one a bit more than the older pics/vids I've seen of that project. Yet I'm eager to get it, so if there's a chance to tweak that one's AB, I'm a sold customer.

For me, it's always (and almost only) about naval birds, so the '15 isn't quite my bag, but I've watched the vids and been closely watching the project unfold just for interest sake. It looks gorgeous, and I hope it does really well for you. Who knows, if either a C prototype or NASA repaint emerges, it just might push me over the edge. Zero interest in the E, but I could imagine springing for sake of getting the C.

Congrats in advance,

dl

The Hornet's afterburners aren't as nice as those with the F-15, but it's only a texture issue - they can be altered by anybody who wants to improve them. I'm going to be updating the Hornets later this year, and the burners will match those of the F-15 when it's done. All part of the learning and, hopefully, improving process for me :)

That's totally fair, Dean.

Thanks again.

One big reason many projects are held up beyond when they could have been released. . .developers trying to satisfy the volume of requests for specific liveries. I have always found it unnecessary really. If someone is interested in an aircraft only if they can have a specific livery then they aren't really interested. Do a couple as part of the release, let the individuals learn to do their own or wait for the masters to start cranking them out. . .if it's an "iconic" aircraft, as this one surely is, then to paraphrase a line from a great movie. . ."If you build it. . .they will paint it".

Wise words :) Because my airplanes are specifically not study-level, I try to match the "value-for-money" of complex systems with lots of variants and paints with each product, plus a paint kit, to make them as complete as possible for those who buy them and for the community at large. I do try to do as much in the way of requests as I can, but you're right, the line has to be drawn somewhere.

Perfect example of the 'If you build it they will paint it' has to be Mike's B24, at the present rate the number of repaints will end up passing those for the SOH A20 and B26...…..:encouragement:
And kudos for avoiding the often over the top complexity, I'm perfectly happy with a kick the tyres and light the fires subject.

Thanks @wombat666

A quick image of the F-15E in FSX for all you die-hard legacy sim fans :) All the Eagles have now been converted.

Got to be honest though, with P3D v5 now here, X-Plane 11 performing well and FS2020 on the horizon, this may well be the last aircraft that I build that will support FSX. There are just too many platforms out there to cater to all of them.

I have fun in Milviz's F-15, but it will be nice to get into a "pure" early F-15! (I'm hoping someone does the natural metal "Streak Eagle" skin for it!"

Yes! I like study sims too, but once in a while I just want to get out and have fun! FlyfreeSTD's Fulcrum and Flanker have been scratching that itch for a couple of weeks now! Sounds like the Eagle will be right there with them. Enough there to keep you from getting bored, but not enough to overload you! (I like the vapor sheeting effect in the pictures BTW!)

Question: do you consider P3Dv4.5 to be a "legacy" sim?

Cheers,

Priller
