DCS F-100 on pre-purchase.

Another bird I loved as a kid, but honestly will wait a while. Too many in my hangar now that I haven't touched at all, but still loved the howl of this when the ANG flew touch and goes in Scott AFB.

DCS F-100D

I wanted this one since the project started a couple of years back. From everything I have seen in the Grinnelli Designs progress reports and YT videos it is spectacular. I pre ordered yesterday and hope it will be released within a few months.

Saving almost $20 is tempting, but like Matt my hangar is filled to the gills (e.g., bought C-130 for the coolness factor...it is cool...and have not flown it yet). There's so many good aircraft and so little time. What a dilemma!

The F-100 sales video is worth watching, darn good.

Ugh, Jay. You're a horrible influencer. I watched the dang video and thought about the 30% and now, it's in my library. Plus it has that cool zero launcher feature or whatever it was called, from the 60's.

Good day to you sir! Now have to justify to my lovely bride a virtual add on after buying new brake pads and rotors for my Redeye.....lol. Gotta love life. I'm certain she will have a new golf club soonish.

Thanks for the compliment...I kind of view that as my job here on SOH....get folks flying and talking about DCS. I watched that zero launch feature and would suggest a procedure change. Did they really think having the gear down would help if there was a launch failure? More drag requires more power to launch.

Anyway, I hope your wife gets a hole in one with that new club. A friend here just had his wife hit a hole in one and he hasn't had one. Tough on his ego!

I had great fun testing the excellent Milviz version for FSX/P3D back in the day. This one looks amazing and very tempting.

If you guys are not on the Grinnelli Discord or don't follow my instagram, here's some stuff I've been working on for the HUN! These are all publicly released already so I'm safe to post here with permission.

Very excited for this module! GD has done some really good work. On par with Heatblur IMHO.
I was watching their pre-release video. As usual, very nicely done. I honestly had no idea there were still 2 actively flying Huns left in the world. I look forward to playing with the ZELL launcher.

Thank you for posting such beautiful paints! They are simply stunning. While I grew up on various Air Force bases in the 70s and 80s, I never got an opportunity to see any bare metal skins. They were all OD or SEA camouflage, which were totally cool too. But seeing these skins, in HD color no less, is just very nice. Any chance you will be doing any OD ANG skins? I want to say the Huns that did touch and go's on the weekend were Iowa ANG. The OD were in various stages of sun bleaching, but on occasion one's looked freshly painted. Just curious is all.

There's 2 different finishes here, Silver Laquer Paint, and also Bare metal. The Silver laquer is less shiny and more uniform over all. The bare metal you see panel variations and it's a little more reflective. Most people who are used to seeing the "bare metal" HUN are most likely used to seeing the Silver Laquer paint finish. But there were still a few ANG and Active squadrons using Bare Metal even after the T.O. for the Silver paint.
