Dcs f/a-18c

I have searched to find info on DCS forums (and could not find anything which is why I am posting this question here), is there a specific time set for the Hornet's release? ie; Midnight GMT or? Just curious of when to look for the content being made available.

Usually DCS Patches are released @ 15:00-16:00 GMT Give or take an hr,That being said,The Patch with The Persian Gulf Map was released about six hrs earlier than normal:jump: So......Who knows really? I know DCS is restructuring their bonus system,I'm sure they'd like that in place for Hornet release, plus any last minute issues with the features they want working for The Hornet EA Open Beta.

Matt has made a comment on a Hornet video concerning HOTAS setup…
"Note that we’ll have a unique control category called “HOTAS” in the Hornet mapping. This will make it very easy and fast to map your controls to best match the real HOTAS. This is just like we did for the A-10C. Once the TM Hornet stick is out, we’ll set default bindings for it."

Is it possible to make the most out of the F-18 without buying the Persian Gulf map, ie is there a good variety of missions that come with the aircraft particularly aircraft carrier take off's and landings?
I'm very tempted by the F-18 , but can't afford both that and the Persian terrain at the same time!

Regards,
Ian

Hello Ian,In short,YES:jump:There's plenty of missions available for the Hornet without purchasing The Persian Gulf Map,Here's a mission Matt created and will be available soon.

Great news and I would probably spring for the Gulf. Ian, on MP plenty of Hornet drivers in the other theaters, I got by butt kicked by SAMs over the Nellis ranges.

***update from Wags***

6- DUD cue added for when HT or fuze setting is below current aircraft AGL. See image.

Very nice!

I am out of the simulation business temporarily as my PC got zapped as a result of a lightning strike that hit a tree in the backyard. I actually got the computer up and running but the GPU, network card, both my routers/WIFI were taken out and there's partial MB damage. I can use it for coms and backing up my remaining stuff but since I will not be going W10 on my incoming PC, my w7 system image will be useless. I will need to install DCS and everything associated with it. Good news is, I have my mods and settings totally backed up. My new system will be good for DCS with an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-8700K 6-Core Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.7 GHz) plus a NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 with 8GB GDDR5X GPU (VR ready). I think I should be G2G for a while.

Storm, massive Hornet formations on that server (again last night), so I would say the Hornet has won popular module vote even in it's basic form now. I have similar specs on my new machine, but haven't added the VR yet and looking at a SSD plus more RAM. So busy having fun in both P3D and DCS it's hard to stop, my work schedule helps. I need to look at DCS mods, get my TM Hog set up (bindings, desk placement).
