Death Valley + HolgerMESH Freeware Released

Great scenery! Really do love it. Will make for some great cinematic purposes in the future.

I did see one small error... Just north, northwest of Furnace Creek there is a large hole.

[edit: tried to attach picture with no luck. You can't really miss it though.]

The large hole is a MESH issue ( I think ) that was picked up by the devs but as far as I am aware they could not do anything about it, hence the disclaimer in the manual about 'amateurs' making the scenery and there might be 'imperfections' :)

JayKae, this scenery is really fantastic, in fact the best I have ever seen. I drove the area from San Diego to Northern California (Redding) last November up hwy 395 and from what I see you hit the nail right on the head. Thanks you so much. I will be flying out of China Lake for quite a while.

Hey guys, just to clarify, I am just the admin over at OZx, I only built the installers and manual pdf, all the work was done by Antonio, Maurizio ( two Italians believe it or not!) and for the mesh it was Holger Sandmann :) Thank you for the kind words though, it is appreciated!

It looks so tempting that I should send up an Aermacchi SF.260 to go after that DC-3! :icon_lol:

Awesome! It looks just like Death Valley! :d I always thought Death Valley is spectacularly beautiful, despite, or perhaps in part because of, it’s bleakness. Magnificent desolation!

Could you please have a look at the coords for us? We cannot find the hole... that would be great!

Death Valley Sightseeing

Took a little sightseeing flight around the Death Valley area today.

The range of colors in the terrain is amazing!

Cody, I flew those coordinates and so did the devs and they are not having the hole there. A suggestion that was made was that maybe our HolgerMESH is not in the higher priority in your library ?

I'll see what I can do. Thanks mate. I'll let you know what I come up with.

ooooh !
Very nice - Great scenery guys ! :ernae:

Roger, would you kindly tell us where to get the bare-metal paint for the
[FONT=arial,sans-serif][SIZE=-1]OV-1 Mohawk - It's sooo pretty and shiny..... must have it.:jump:

Hi guys,

that hole actually looks more like an incorrect flatten for a water body than a mesh issue (notice the sharp edges, which are untypical for terrain data). Cody, do you have any add-on installed that includes water bodies, like Ultimate Terrain X?

Cheers, Holger
